Worst spambot raid ever...
Lasted 4 months.
Think these are frequent? 2006 was a hundredfold worse.
Think these are annoying? 2006 was all porn links.
Think the stories are nice? 2006 was all links and that's all. Well....there were also PICTURES.
On every subject and subsection the first five topics were posted on. Also, three new topics were made. Also, they came every few hours. Also they came every day. For FOUR MONTHS.
Ever try deleting something you can't ban or remove with one click? No.
Be VERY GLAD this isn't 2006...
Oh yeah...each link was also a VIRUS.
And there were only two people active with the power to delete this.

Spam bots used to be terrible and annoying but now they're a nuisance.

I think the best way to deal with this is to disable guests posting completely. The AE forum doesn't allow guests to post, and there's no spambots.
