But that would only make the amount of money visible different in each board. Like, you would have so-and-so dan-balls in this board and so-and-so dan-balls in that board.

yea, and that would be no good... and since there is no way to determine where the post came from... I personally think it's impossible to code...

Now hold on, there's the hingepoint.
We need to be able to identify WHERE people post, and record the posts for various sections seperately.
The rest has been figured out. So does anyone know a way this can be done?

Nope. Post count is post count, you cannot split up post counts with javascript.

exactly.... but what about other programming languages? (just throwing an idea out there)

I've already mentioned that. Unless Pickle or MegaLoler want to place a php-based image...

Exactly.
If theres a code to count how many times you've posted, the code can easily be changed to determine WHERE you posted.

JavaScript isn't as much into object inheritance as Java is, is it? I don't think separate, interactive objects exist in JavaScript...
If the code were to exist, a slave/scout object (i.e. one in a "local" footer) would observe the board post count (i.e. sum of the posts of all threads in the board) and compare each person's post count before and after the board count increased. If a user's count increased, a variable associated with both the board and the user would increase by the same amount. The master/base object (i.e. one in the Global Footer) would see what those user/board post counts were from each of the scouts and increase the user's Dan-Ball count a respective amount for each of the variables.
So I imagine. If we are to make a code, we need to know what it is...

Well heres something to start with.
Can we locate the code that deals with calculating post count? Obviously it has a function to recall how many times someone has posted. I doubt it simply kicks it up a notch every time someone posts.
Otherwise, we're likely left to our own devices, which may very well mean its not within our abilities. I don't know, however, how JS works. I only know DOS and Lua, and those are both object-based scripting languages. More like childs play than hardcore coding.

But we need to remember the fact that we can't add pages to the website, only PHP-based images.
Veers, Javascript is not at all like Java. Just clearing that up.
Fox, don't bother with Javascript. Really. It's not worth it. Plus it has nowhere near the power required to do something like this.

Wasn't planning on learning javascript any time soon. I need to learn some variant of C, perhaps. I might want to finish HTML and I am going to need to pick up some VB.
So does anyone know if we have access to the script that calculates Post Count? If we can get that script, i truly believe it can be overrided with a modified variant and we can achieve the desired effect.

Visual Basic? Start about starting low.
Proboards is closed-source. Plus that script is probably broken up into multiple things, EG, the thing to display it, the thing to see if the board gets posting count... Oh, plus we can't modify the codes on the site even if we did know what they were. This is Proboards we are talking about.
Also, C isn't gonna help here, but feel free to learn it.

Okay then.
Granted that we don't have access to the original code, does anyone know if it is even REMOTELY possible for the board to calculate the number of posts made in various sections?
And maybe the Proboards Support knows. I don't think its a big deal with such a code.

Not even slightly, I don't think.

yep... so as I said in my first few posts in this thread, I don't think it is possible at all...

It would require information not found on the page, which makes the code impossible.

Okay, so it appears we cannot do this.
I want to clear one thing up first. This is more than possible. The fact is simple; we have not been given the proper resources.
