I am Christian, meaning I believe in God and that He has a Son. If noone else can be convinced to believe that, so be it.
We should be alright if we tolerate each other and each others' beliefs.

Yes... I believe that God is real. If God wasn't real, than who or what made the universe? I jsut wonder where God came from...

Sure, I'll respect your beliefs. I respect everyone's beliefs. I never even bring up religion unless someone asks first.

Oh, boy, another debate about God. I started the last one... Ah well. That was a long time ago. Yes, there is a God. I believe he sent his Son down to this screwed-up Earth and had him die on the cross after living a perfect life, so he would take on the burden of my sins. I spread his message for him, through me. It's easy to spread his message of good news!
Just imagine everyone you pass on the street/in the hallway burning in Hell. Why WOULDN'T that make it easy?
I'm currently in two debates about God, so I might say things off-topic, because I'm getting confused with the other ones, so just as a warning...

I am an athiest if you really want to know. I don't want this to turn into uber-flame-wars, just a debate. I respect people's beliefs also, but I personally do not believe in any God.

The answer is no. Problem solved. *sigh* I agree, but this is a DEBATE. People can discuss whatever they want.

Yes, but how can you seriously prove that there IS a God?
Saying 'look around you' doesn't mean crap. If we have an explanation for it, then they make no progress.

That's what I'm asking... and besides, it's pretty unreasonable that there is some all-seeing all-loving man up there that forgives us all. Will he forgive Bin Laden? I sure as hell (there is no hell...) hope not. Anyway, if he loves us all, why is the world so screwed?

because satan is gaining power, the common man IS evil, and because that's the whole point of this life.

I personally am Christian. There's a scientific side to the debate too. You can't take a void, blow it up somehow, and have sextillions (that is a large number, please don't comment on it's prefix) of light years of matter spread throughout the endless void. Please explain to me how the big bang could have happened.

Perhaps, that the Big Bang is truly the reverse of the Big Crush. All moving in a never-ending cycle with no beginning and no end.
On the flip side, How could God have happened?

because satan is gaining power, the common man IS evil, and because that's the whole point of this life. Actually, he only tempts. We are the ones succumbing. Something called Free Will is ruining (and simultaneously bettering) our lives. God can warn, love, reward, and punish us all He wants, and Lucifer can tempt us all he wants, but neither one can determine and direct our lives: that is up to us. We have Knowledge, but we choose what to do with it; we have Power, but we choose what to do with it. Of course, if you are a philosophical Naturalist (not environmental naturalist), then you don't believe that there is such a thing as Free Will. If not, then that makes it ridiculously easy to understand how God knows what will happen: in conjunction with Naturalist theory, God can just take His infinite time observing effect after effect after effect what each cause and effect for each action will be. By that same application of thought, we too theoretically can see into the future (remember throughout The Matrix trilogy how "we can only see as far as the last choice we comprehend"? If we understand a choice, we know its effects and therefore immediate future events.).

I don't understand the Big Bang Theory either, since it claims to be a creation theory but doesn't explain how anything actually comes into existence. Religion takes care of this: science fails to do so as far as I know. Post Script: That is a large number, but I prefer "googolplexes" to all other, smaller named numbers...

Ironically, Naturalists are more likely to be agnostic or atheist than certain of a religion...I was just trying to reconcile ideas to show other ideas.
By the way, who's to say that God is male? Only organsims that reproduce sexually have gender. God doesn't reproduce (ignore any blasphemous images that may occurr), so he technically doesn't have any gender. Christians could argue that since He was in a male body, He is male, but technically He doesn't have a gender either, does He?
Of course, it seems disrespectful to say "It" and "Those," so I guess we can just continue using masculine pronouns...
