That technology is technically speaking possible, although very unlikey to be around with 30 years.. Anyway, where would we go? Just sit there in space or colonize the moon or something?

IIt's called a tumor. It grows with no regard for space and consumes resources until both it and it's host die out.
That's your urpose. Don't like it? Too bad.

In the words of Mr.Smith in The Matrix: Humans are a virus. True though.

That is very true...and that would explain why that quote is my personal favorite from The Matrix...

I will save humanity in about 15 years when I finish college as an expert in nanotechnology and robotics.

Hey, your ego's a bit over-inflated. I'll puncture it so it goes down a little.
There is a chance that nanotech and robotics will've been fount by 2024. There's a better chance, however, that the Japanese will have figured it out in about 5-10 years time. They seem to be quite good with that sort of stuff.

You have made no hole in my so called "ego"! When I say nanotechnology I mean carbon nanotubes which have only recently been discovered. And when I say robotics I mean improved space probes and sattelites.

Hey! I'm the only one in these forums who's allowed to be Narcissistic!
Who said you had to work with new subjects in nanotechnology and robotics to save the world instead of improving on existing ones? Many things we have are improvements of existing (well, preexisting at this point) technologies, such as PDAs from laptops from personal desktops to classic not-so-supercomputers...
And how will working with nonotechnology help to reduce the number of people on Earth when everyone else is trying to "preserve" and "save" people and therefore counter population-reducing efforts?

Look in the mirror and then reply. Looked in the mirror. FYI, I don't have an ego. I hardly have a life...

Thanks. Now, back on topic. I have no clue what we'll do with our population...

I don't really care right now, I'm too pissed at the fact that my upload is getting just over 100 votes! Check it out! It looks really good!
