Starting in 1985, it was discovered that there were other forms of Carbon fullerenes besides diamond and graphite. This astonished scientists all over the globe. The discovery of Carbon Nanotubes is predicted to revolutionize a new type of architechture, electronics, and engineering. Comment on these amazing, yet tougher than solid diamond, structures only nanometers wide.

I've heard of this, when they had the "brilliant" idea to try to make a space elevator. pff...
but so, if they find a way to make these carbon tubes in a quick and energy efficiant procedure, then buildings could become the loopy, happy looking structures movies always make them out to be in the future, instead of the block shapes they are now.
but I don't think electronics would be affected much, unless the carbon tubes could be the key to electrical ink.

The structure of the carbon atoms represents a cylinder. When a buckyball fullerene enters the cylinder it conducts heat and electricity depending on if it is a Single walled nanotubes (SWNT's) conduct electricity and Multi walled nanotubes (MWNT's) conduct heat.

Oh good. What is there to discuss though?

What can be implied about these nanoscopic tubes and if they actually exist.

Well.....do they?

So yea... They exist but c'mon, you have to have some question about it.

Nanotechnology is win. Anyone who disagrees will be turned into carbon via nanobot.

What new technology could tiny little tubes bring us?

You can turn people into caron with them. Seriously
Wait, I mean nanoBOTS

Me too! Carbon nanotubes could revolutionized engineering! The goal for engineering is too build a strong lightweight structure. Carbon nanotubes are just that. One nanotube is stronger than a pound of steel!

Meh. How the hell does it occur naturally though?

We cook nanotubes? Im confused (.com) Is a nano smaller than an atom?
