Could be a contest done every time PG is updated - submissions are accepted until the next Friday, and judges determine the best use of the update.

Good idea. Will get people used to the idea of it and show some of the noobs that it is useful. (Not talking about just bomb here, it happens with every update.)

An odd contest at that.
The rewards should be small, but sense PG is updated about once a month the reward might be normal sized.

If this does not become an official contest, I wonder if it would be ok for someone to make their own contest, and the person who wins, so many people will give him/her karma, or buy something from his/her store.

Only Contest Judges can make official contests.
I do like this idea, though. Pity that I didn't see it before Bomb was updated.
This WILL happen in the future. You can count on that.
Yeah, the rewards for this contest would probably be a slightly small reward, but reasonable. Maybe five hundred db's and another star.

Well, this would only work well if the update was an element. Although some other things, I can't think of any at the moment, would also work.
