I know it's seemingly out of left field but I am just wondering.

I... Hate them He copies Lord of the Rings in some ways and I think he puts in too much detail :/ I think I'll stick with Tolkien.

The eragon series is more like the starwars episodes than lord of the rings.

Well, I have to agree with you there, it is very clichéd. Brom is like Obi-wan Konobi from Star Wars who trains Eragon (like Luke Skywalker). And then Brom dies at the end of the first story (like Obi-Wan). It turns out the Morzan is Eragon's father (like Luke Skywalker and Darth Vader). Also Eragon meets the beautiful Arya who he rescues her from the tower (like Princess Leia). And in Eldest, Eragon meets Oromis which is exactly like Luke Skywalker meeting Yoda in The Empire Strikes Back. I think I prove my point.

Next thing you know, Arya will be Eragon's sister... Although she is an elf...

Uh qwerty, I doubt that. But brisingr is the one book that strays from the similaritys to starwars.

All of a sudden, I have an urge to read the Eragon series... ...of course, I still need something that relates to AT-ATs...

Veers, would dragons work for that?

Does every story need an AT-AT? Just read the books. Although there ain't no lightsabers.

I've read all 3, and I think they're quite good, but the storyline's a bit iffy.
