1.The dan-ball forums could have its own newsletter. Like you are able to post your shops in it. There could just be news happening around the forums. And you could just advertise whatever you want but you would have to pay a certain amount of dan-balls.(rules could be made regarding advertising)
2.Another idea I had was to send an email to all members telling them to become active. They could reply saying they don't want to and there account could be deleted. This could also get people coming back to the forums.

Number two already happened, some got mad at me because they were sent the email.. and requested they be moved from our list.. lol. Like I said the members who didn't want to be a member anymore could have there account deleted.

#1 makes no sense. Is it a newsletter, a shop, or an ad board? 3 entirely unrelated concepts you got there.

Within the news letter there could be ads(for shops or other things), news.

Besides, isn't that what the news fader is for? All the important information is there.

The newsletter was to get out to everyone, not to the fewer amount that go on the forums.

Why not send them the email and if they does not reply to it in 1 month there account will be deleted.

What about if they're on a long holiday and can't access their e-mail? I don't think we should make them reply...

Find delete them if they have not posted ever. And if there more then 3 months old and has not loged in ever since they have created there account.

Maybe, but what's the point? If we did that, the forum would only have 30 or so members left, which is not the image we wan't to show new members.

Would you rather be at a forum with 700 + members, or a forum with 30?

The forum isn't showing who it truly is.

If that's so, then I'm sure 90% of popular forums don't show who they really are. If we deleted the members with 0 posts we'd have less to brag about. That would hurt our ads which bring more members.
Besides, everyone who is registered at these forums did so by their own will, so in a way, this forum is showing who it truly is/(along with the other 90%(probably more) of popular forums)

Indeed deleting members who have never posted will only worsen our chances at reviving the forum.....the forums are bad enough as they are....

Why not send them the email and if they does not reply to it in 1 month there account will be deleted. If they reply, the email will not be recieved by anyone, as the email is sent by a proboards bot account.
