I'll just quote the MPAA's description of this rating:

A PG-13 rating is a sterner warning by the Rating Board to parents to determine whether their children under age 13 should view the motion picture, as some material might not be suited for them. A PG-13 motion picture may go beyond the PG rating in theme, violence, nudity, sensuality, language, adult activities or other elements, but does not reach the restricted R category. The theme of the motion picture by itself will not result in a rating greater than PG-13, although depictions of activities related to a mature theme may result in a restricted rating for the motion picture. Any drug use will initially require at least a PG-13 rating. More than brief nudity will require at least a PG-13 rating, but such nudity in a PG-13 rated motion picture generally will not be sexually oriented. There may be depictions of violence in a PG-13 movie, but generally not both realistic and extreme or persistent violence. A motion picture’s single use of one of the harsher sexually-derived words, though only as an expletive, initially requires at least a PG-13 rating. More than one such expletive requires an R rating, as must even one of those words used in a sexual context. The Rating Board nevertheless may rate such a motion picture PG-13 if, based on a special vote by a two-thirds majority, the Raters feel that most American parents would believe that a PG-13 rating is appropriate because of the context or manner in which the words are used or because the use of those words in the motion picture is inconspicuous.

Sure, it's a movie rating, but Listo himself has said that this is the rating. We don't have to censor every little thing here, but really, these are some good guidelines as to what we can let pass without making a rule against it on these forums.

First of all, I'd like to mention that all internet forums without certain child restraints are PG-13 by default, as stated in the proboards TOS. Second of all, it is PG-13 because we can use the minor language if we wish, because sometimes "Please be quiet, you're disturbing the chat" doesn't work like "Shut up, dumbass!".

Then you've got flaming spam wars. Opened cans of spam, on fire, flying around the chatroom. Not a pretty sight.

You do have to be 13 to legally join the forum anyway.

What exactly do you mean is "nice"? Do you refer to the usage of profanity, or are you commenting on one of the hypothetical situations?

...and I have been consciously permitting "higher" severity language to see the light of day in the chat, such as your so-called "F-Bomb." I do not tolerate anything reminiscent of reproduction without proper context and will remove those. Make sure that what you are saying makes sense.

For instance, something like "get the f*** out of here" literally means "Get that sleeping partner out of here!" and would result in deletion of the chat post. Something along the lines of "I was walking on a farm when I stepped into s***. WTH?" would be appropriate, as you actually refer to biological byproducts, although the use of "What the Hell?" would be questionable...

Even if you were to use certain words in the appropriate manner, I would still delete some as the only proper way to use some words is to insult, such as saying "GTFO" and meaning it in a literal sense...

Use words properly without insulting, and I should be alright. Out of resignation, I will permit "substitutes" such as "jeeze" and "gosh" for Jesus and God's names used in vain...
