I think we can all agree that this is blatant abuse of power. He intends to make money abusing the censored words list, annoying everyone who tries to type any of the censored words, and in a way that other staff members would do for free. This is obviously very wrong. I've asked some other members, and they all agreed that he should be punished for this in some way.
Imagine if that shop became active. We couldn't say a sentence without running into a ridiculous censor of some sort, and Memzak would be making money for abusing his own powers. I, personally, feel that if Memzak is going to use his powers as a way of making money unfairly, and doesn't feel at all bad about abusing those powers, that it was a mistake hiring him, and he clearly deserves to be demoted, at least temporarily.

I agree, this or he shouldn't be allowed censored word list powers.

Well, I think this is his first time abusing powers (if I'm mistaken, please correct me) so I think a temporary demotion would be enough.

Perhaps both?
Perhaps temporary transfer to the "PWNT" category?

I thought that rank was reserved for those resembling Luke Skywalker (e.g. Molopoy). A temporary demotion (again) ought to be enough.
A warning increase of some sort should probably also be put into effect so as to further deter him from such abuse of power...

About 20% or so?
For how long should the demotion be?
Do we happen to have any stockades open?

Fifteen or twenty percent ought to be good (and purely for aesthetic reasons, I would prefer to use the number that is one fifth of one hundred...).
Would a week be long enough to have him think about what he did?
No, stockades will not be necessary - besides, we have YouTube, instant messaging, and social networking sites for that purpose!
Post Script: If anyone takes that last statement as a literal form of punishment, I will have that person become the next forum censor after banning him/her...

Demotion really? I think that's a little bit harsh... No one even gave him a chance to close it. Its not like hes had a lot of past offenses has he? This seems like an honest mistake, and I really don't think that demotion is reasonable.

I don't think anybody mentioned a ban, just temporary demotion and a warning.

As I told you on chat, you probably saw my post script and thought I meant Memzak. I meant any Rebel scum who decided to shame Memzak with YouTube, MySpace, Facebook, et cetera...

Good, I was confused for a bit there.
Hmm... 1-5 of 100...
It's... IT'S...
*gets out calculator*
pi?
Anyhow, one week demotion seems fair. Shall we begin? Remember, we have to time it exactly.

Darn, I already demoted him...at least I put down the time that I did so in the Warning Notes, and it's a good thing I demoted and inserted the notes with the same, single click of the Modify button (ergo making the timestamp appear the very instant he ceased to be staff)...

It is a good thing Memzak has been demoted for the time being. As far as I've seen him he's slowly becoming a.....*ahem* sorry for the derogatory term, but a troll. Perhaps the temporary demotion will ensure he does not continue to go down this path....

I just noticed a really nice oppourtunity in this temporary demotion: Shinigsilver can be a Category Moderator for the active General Category until Memzak's retribution terminates, after which Shiningsilver can be promoted to his original rank of former Global Moderator (now known as "Administrator").

That depends on if we're actually going to re-promote Memzak. I say we should see how he continues to behave for the first few weeks, as from previous instances when I've seen his behavior be rather....inappropriate....

Here is a PM of his:
He did apologize. Still, this is a great opportunity for ShiningSilver.

Have you responded to that personal message? If he would have read the post I made in his shop, he should also have seen that it wasn't simply for power abuse, but for setting prices that require prior staff agreement and creating a service that would render the forums chaotic (by making everything unreadable). Also, if he didn't have the power to censor words (which indeed he doesn't), then why did he argue that the staff prices were for if they wouldn't do it themselves if they would have to in order to make the shop work anyhow.
Hmm...too long to read in a comprehensible manner...how about this: His misdemeanors: - Power abuse involving censor charges
- Setting staff prices without prior staff consent
- Creating service that would render forums chaotic
Reason why his argument ("Staff don't get it free, because they can do it themselves.... The reason they wouldn't get it free is if they didn't want to do it themselves...") is invalid: He can't modify censors. Running the shop requires modifying censors. Running the shop requires other staff to modify censors. Staff prices exist because other staff wouldn't modify censors themselves. See the lack of logic at which I'm pointing?

I was wondering about that. The other day i had to do a censor for him. I was thinking "How can he sell censors if he cant do them?"

His PM also seems to have undertones of dislike, but that's only natural.
