Ggoodie, you almost always have people hiking through an area and forming campsites before you have people building things. I mean, you gotta make a camp to build a cottage.

yeah but its a modern wood cabin... I just think it would be better with mudbrick houses or thatched roof cottages.

Are you suggesting ancient settlers just walked up, pulled cottages off their horses, and set up a small town for the night? That did not and could not happen.

Do you think that in early civilizations in the middle east, instead of building houses out of easily accessible mud, they somehow appeared in a giant forest and were able to chop down and cut lumber to build a cabin?

They aren't cabins. They are tents. I assumed you were talking about cabins.
Also, this is the forest, not the middle east, in case you didn't notice. They don't have readily available mud or sunlight to dry it with. What they did have was the tents they packed for their travel.

How did they get to north america then? By boat? I just think that a small basic village represents an early empire more.

I have updated the site a little and changed some things, also Ggoodie, the empire sailed to the island so they would have to start off with tents but now there are some houses.
Also the native link isn't going anywhere yet

See? You don't sail to a place and pull houses off the ship to stay in till the houses are done. You pull tents off.

I don't know if I should go any further with my current idea. I want to base my site around tiny empires etc, I don't know if I should continue my idea by making more empires, upgrading map etc. Or use qwerty's idea by putting mini empires all around the webpage. Or maybe someone else has a great idea to add in...

Make the flat view of the village bigger, make a path too the lake, add nessacities like a farm, and thats it.

well if you gets omeone good at scripting you can make something like myminicity.com but customizable.

I was thinking of that, I had an idea that people could set it to a point so clicks would go to..say a house or a farm, get it?

ya but you would need Major scripting

Wouldn't there need to be a ton of images?

well sorta but you would need to make it almost like a game too or else it wont be able to "build" well

No, actually, a simple script that tracks all the IP addresses and the date of clicks can increase a value. Then, with PHP, you can actually "create" an image from different sources. So you'd need 1 picture of each building, and you can use PHP to arrange them.
