I, artcoursecannon, am starting a Powder Game contest! The objective is to create a Tower Defense game! I am also going to enter, because I am not going to be a judge! You are not to make a "defend your castle" game where you put thunder/fire somewhere to activate traps. This is the Tower Defense in which you start with X amount of money, resources, etc. and gain money buy/upgrade weapons/traps/defenses. The following rules apply to all entries (even me): 1: Only one entry per person 2: all entries after October 1st will be disqualified. 3: Plagiarism (of other uploads/ideas) leads to disqualification. 4: The objective of the game must be to defend a player! 5: Any other rules the judges would like to add.SCORING: MAXIMUM POINTS OF 100. SCORES BELOW 60 RECEIVE NO DAN-BALLS! 25% Functionality: The game should rarely, if ever, fail. Anything that happens should be intentional. 25% Complexity: The game should incorporate a diverse variety of interactions without deviating from the game. 25% Playability: The game in its entirety should be capable of play by the judges. 20% Comprehensibility: The game should be relatively easy to control in respect to its complexity. Anyone knowledgeable of the game in question should be able to play it with the provided controls. 5% Aesthetics: The game should demonstrate a dedication to its visual quality. It should not look like a bunch of scribbles by a newborn infant. Prizes that will be awarded to the winners: ;D Grand Prize Winner: 600 DBs & 30 karma 2nd Place: 400 DBs & 20 karma 3rd Place: 300 DBs & 15 karma 4th place: 200 DBs & 10 karma Participation w/ +60 pts: 20 DBs & no karma Participation w/ under 60 pts: Nothing [/color] [glow=red,2,300]DON'T HESITATE TO ASK QUESTIONS![/glow]

People aren't gonna get thirty karma for winning. thats ridiculous. And how do you expect anyone to make a tower defense game on PG?

We may have calculators and more in PG, but I do not believe that we have either the pixel capacity or the time to have towers that will automatically subtract so many points when copy/pasted onto the field, have a point gain system for moving enemies that we have not yet perfected in PG, etc.
Unless you can prove that this is indeed possible given the limits of Powder Game, I may have to close this idea due to impracticality...

I'm pretty sure you just manually give yourself points and use them to buy premade items or to activate obstacles like landmines, laser forcefields, tower guns, etc. I think how this would work is by adding a certain number of fighters to the opposite side of the field as your tower, then using your defenses to crush them. If the fighters achieve a certain goal then they win(inevitable in most tower defense games).

First of all, this contest may be dead soon. If it is, dont bother posting anything here. I found your defence game to be drab, dry and disfunctional. The thunder and fire towers would not fit, and the game goes by way too quickly. There is only one wave of fighters and they are extremely challenging to kill with too much wind.

So you are turning it down cause it was too hard?
Anyway, it''s the high staff that decide that. You make a better one if you want.

And, this contest is still an IDEA. It hasn't been approved yet. probably because your other one is inactive. Which reminds me, we can announce new contests.

I think this should be a contest. Making a TD seems simple. Place towers in premade slots. Copy in paste. Then click unleash on a level button. Balls will fill the track and small amounts of fan on the sides will lead them to there objective. The towers use pre put torch and lighter effects to kill. Differant types of balls will be used to be immune to some towers. >.< Epic win. And they'll explode a small amount of a castle made of cc4 at the end when allited with torch . Or a tower or whatever.

Now that ball has arrived (after this thread was created), Tower Defenses can really come in a great range of forms. Balls will travel in one direction (unlike fighters) when aided by fan, and they can activate "switches" much more easily. And on top of that, certain balls are affected by certain liquids.
THIS IS NOW A REALLY GOOD IDEA!

How about as credit, we ignore that bump of yours? It was a one-month bump, which qualifies you for a warning.
Anyway, the ball doesn't really fix the other problems. I still don't approve it.

Umm The topic is still open for discussion. And it wasn't a bump. This contest was AT the top of the list when I bumped it.

November 2nd to December 2nd. We measure bumps by time, not distance. Anyway, the contest was closed long ago. In fact,
