I have recently seen two requests for staffship by Dhoomlord and Soleil Deimos while patrolling the chat. When I asked them why they should deserve promotion to staffship, Dhoomlord came up with the following serious responses while Soleil Deimos just joked around.
I also began wondering whether KuraiOorora should be offered the chance to move from the informal rank of Aesthetics Designer to Board Moderator. I haven't had any problems with him, he seems to evade inactivity relatively well, and he seems to make a good overall impression...
Should Dhoomlord, Soleil Deimos, and/or KuraiOorora become staff / be promoted?

For Dhoom, no. None of those are good reasons. Staying away from the bad side of the internet doesn't have a ton to do with it. I doubt one person could increase moderation noticeably, and how on earth could he make more serious topics? Also, EVERYONE hates trolling! That doesn't make one admin.
As for soleil... that's a tough one. He's had trouble in the past, but he is over it. People seem to trust him. This one is up to you.
Kurai has been a dedicated member of staff for a long time. Very deserving of cat. mod.
However, we are forgetting something. Don't we want to stop hiring new people? We have too many mods/admins as it is!

As for Soleil Deimos, I don't even know why I bothered putting his request up here aside from promising Dhoomlord and Soleil Deimos that I would share their requests: he expected to be Administrator, but he wasn't the least bit serious with why or how. His actions, albeit on chat, do not demonstrate any worthy of staffship.
Well, in KuraiOorora's case, he is already staff and he could be put into a position that has slightly more responsibility, such as Category Moderator. The number of staff members would remain the same while he would get slightly more powers (the only thing he can do is make skins: all else is hidden from him).
Well, I guess we could always lay this proposal upon the table, ergo indefinitely delaying this until we have room for more staff...

Kurai is technically already staff, so we should go ahead with the promotion. The other two, we should probably decline.

I thought we all agreed that we have way too many staff and we would hold off on hiring more until the member count rises enough.

I think that he would make a great mod. He always tells me what to do and points out my mistakes on chat... so you have my go ahead to do so (not that my go ahead is much...)

Ah, I think I see what you mean. Quite honestly, I promised them (Dhoomlord and Soleil Deimos) that I would take their requests into consideration with everyone here. I didn't plan on adding to the staff, but I didn't have the heart to tell them that as an individual...

For the record, Dhoom was on the other day, in an alternate account in chat, ranting about how everyone on the chat and forums are now /b/tards (not my term) and trolls. He also apparently wants to leave forever. I really don't think he would make good staff...
