Yep, it's that lovely time again where you know you'll pick me to get a NEW MOTM! I'm starting this early so A) We can have it on-time this time B) I can't wait. C) It looks nice when it's on-time D) It gives us lots of time to chose. YOU KNOW YOU WANT TO PICK ME!I should stop with subliminal messages before you pick meI get too off-hand. *** IF I'm wrong because of the MoTM thingie where it's last month's MOTM... then somebody fix it. I'm in a total state of confusion.

That depends......for awhile now it's been only staff.....I believe for once we should have a non-staff member as MOTM.....one that shows such qualities of a deserving award.....

But whom? Most people here who people think are nice are staff.

Yes, but because of the fact there are so many staff nominations we might as well have a SOTM (Staff of the Month) badge. The MOTM is not only available to staff mind you.
We should find a non-staff member who abides.....and one that actually helps the forum for that matter....

Alright, it is October now. Who seemed most helpful and pleasant during the month of September?

Hmm.......The One of Open Profanities (In other words, xxx) might be a worthy candidate. He's usually on the chat every time I go on. Plus he is always posting on one topic or another. Both active and respectful......

[slightly off-topic]The reason most of them have been staff is because, as I have said many times, we have an outrageously huge staff/member ratio. Sadly, pretty much anyone who is even a remotely good person gets a staff position if just they ask for it. Being a staff member is not nearly as distinguished and prestigious as it used to be.[/slightly off-topic] Back on topic, sadly, no one particularly caught my eye last month. Maybe it's because I haven't been coming here quite as much, what with school and all.

Should we intentionally skip MotM if we can't think of anyone?

Hmm........that's a tough one.
Well, the whole point of the MOTM system is to recognize outstanding members. It wouldn't be right to pick a MOTM just for the sake of having one.
So if we can't think of anyone, we should skip it, but that should only be a last resort.

Speaking of which, TSL, I recently discovered this weird thing called a "life" lying around, and I'm considering giving it a good look-see, so I probably won't be as active.
IN OTHER NEWS, I believe that we should skip it if we can't think of anyone. XXX may be great now, but remember all those bumps when he was new?

IN OTHER NEWS, I believe that we should skip it if we can't think of anyone. XXX may be great now, but remember all those bumps when he was new? Was that first part supposed to be an insult? And about the second part, what exactly did XXX do? I never really noticed him.

That was an insult to myself, actually. I never knew it existed before.
The second part... XXX and someone else (called ALP) basically went around bumping all sorts of threads in almost every board.

Well, in that case, neither of them would make a good choice.

ALP left, and XXX got much better. Much, much better. He simply forgot to check the last posting date. Reminds me a bit of you when you first joined, although I only have that info secondhand.

Well, yeah, I did do that at first. Everyone does. ;D
But has XXX done anything in particular to be rewarded and recognized for? I mean, usually when someone contributes a lot, I and everyone else notice it.

He's active, and doesn't flame, spam, or any of that. Given the forum's current condition, that alone is an accomplishment. He is being an active, contributing member.

Well, I guess we can give him that nomination, then.

But as I said before, if we can't find an outstanding person, we shouldn't have a MOTM this month. It doesn't matter what condition the forum is in. We shouldn't award mediocrity or pick a MOTM just for the sake of having one.
