They've learnt a sufficient level of English skills. I was on chat recently, and this is the transcript of what happened on it (note, it wasn't an Omegle chat, this actually happened on Chatango): JakeBob: www.wikihow.com/Use-You're-and-Your JakeBob: odd JakeBob: It's not clickable... JakeBob: www.wikihow.com/Use-You%27re-and-YourStranger: WOW JakeBob: Hm? Stranger: idk that JakeBob: You didn't know the difference between You're and Your? Stranger: yes JakeBob: Wait, just so I can clarify, you're saying that before seeing that article, you had no idea of the difference between YOU'RE and YOUR? Stranger: yep JakeBob: What the hell did you think the difference between the two words were before you saw that article?! Stranger: i thought tey were da same After about three or four minutes, I told him (using some broken English by accident) that I would have to ban him from the internet until he learnt some English, which he took as a serious threat for some reason Knowledge of the English language should be mandatory if you want to go on the internet. I can understand learners having a hard time, but an eleven year old who tries to blame their English skills on their being french-canadian needs to be kept away from the internet completely until they're 16.

How do you know? It could've been BoL. It could've been a Xat-ter who wandered onto the chat.

You guys seem to be completely forgetting that there are many, many websites based in other countries all over the world, where people speak different languages than English. The internet is a global thing.

Yes, I would like to agree with The Shadow Lord that the Internet, despite originally having been developed in the American Navy, is a global network that crosses language barriers. No one should expect someone from the Internet to know English unless the user facing the expectations communicates in English to begin with...
Now, if the person "knows" English without really knowing it, just like hundreds of people, then there is a problem. [unrealisticRequirement]Everyone's grammar should be as high as or higher than my own![/unrealisticRequirement]

I assumed all of you knew that I was chastising the English speakers. If they speak a different language, I don't have much of a beef with that, but it's the people who can't be bothered to learn the difference between words that really annoy me.

It is quite possible that all of Tiger's typos were intentionally crafted for the sake of irony, in which case these corrections prove futile, but in the case that the typos are indeed mistakes... I think I have sufficient English skills and I'm only 13. Typo Showing off your proficiency in the language you've been taught your entire life is not the point of this thread

In that case, I'll just conclude with a command to all:
Know your language and prove that you are not an utterly hopeless member of the Community!

Might I ask what this so-called "Tri-force" symbol (i.e. iteration 1 of the Sierpinski triangle) has to do with this thread? I'm afraid that it counts as spam...
