Calculator Contest.
Rules: At least 1 Operation, 3 numbers. Can be new or old.
11 points - Subtraction 11 points - Addition 11 points - Multiplication
5 points for each input Number ( 1 is 5 points, 1 and 2 is 10, etc...)
10 points - Number Display (each possible number is shown and the solution is lit up) 30 points - Number Pad Display
5 points - Neatness & Size 10 points - Reliability (how much of the time does it work)
10 bonus points - Each Additional Operation
Prizes:
1st: 1000 DBs Winner Badge
2nd: 500 DBs
3rd: 250 DBs
Due Date is December 26th. Good Luck!

would you mind moving the due date back a bit? Maybe the 26 or 27? Exam week will be next week so I wouldn't have any time to work on my entry. I realize I'm just one lone high schooler and that there'll likely be more contests of this type later as PG technology progresses. If you deny my request, rest assured I will take no offense. like I said, I'm just one kid.

your not the only highschooler here... lol. Most of our members are middle through highschool. And sure, i the end date can be the 26 ( 2 and a half weeks)

I see a problem: You are limiting it to only four-operation calculators! People have made much larger calcs than that! I propose a re-do of the scoring system.

EDIT:
M4 recently realised that there is no scoring for reliability. Surely an unreliable calculator should score lower than a flawless one?

Actually I couldn't because organizing the beams to go into the number pad took too much space...
But, I could make 7 operations in the actual calculator-not-num-pad part. I could probably finish it if there were an element that changed laser to thunder and vice-versa.
But wishing for elements wont get us anywhere, now will it...
Also, I think this would be fairer if calculator's were scored by number of possible calculations(1+1, 1+2, 1+3 etc.), rather than having a separate scoring for number of operators and number of numbers. That way a calc that has 3 numbers and 9 operations(81 possible calculations) would score the same as one with 9 numbers and one operation.(81 possible calculations).
This contest has already started so I wouldn't be surprised if this change in rules would be turned down. Perhaps it could be used in the next(assuming that there will be a next) calculator contest...

does it have to be in pg or can in be in crys sim? I made an up to 14x14 multiplication calc in crysim but it has no input numbers or output numbers, you have to count the dots. simplest it can be 101 oh, and what if the calc works 0% of the time ?(kidding)
