Perhaps a badge for PG/SR for people who come up with good ideas in the specific board. (EG: Helps with technology or submits a lot of approved elements or comes up with good ideas for classes for SR)

That's a good idea as well. You know, I think we should make a staff idea thread if it becomes more needed. (Also, I wasn't promoted, I was RE-promoted. )

A staff idea thread? Generally, we make each distinct idea its own thread: it's just that in this case, when I brought up the similarity between FoxtrotZero's suggestion and Matt's suggestions, I managed to integrate several ideas when I should have kept them separate. I thought that would have been permissible, but perhaps I was mistaken...
Are we alright with keeping this thread up for the immediately pending business (i.e. Game Category money increase, removal/reduction of staff pecuniary benefits, Games Category related badges)? If so, then I would like to give support to all of the suggestions and inquire how we can code for a specific amount of money from a particular part of the forums...

There is no need for a new topic, general. Its all related matters, and there has already been a good amount of related discussion here. Attempting to transplant that is a poor idea.
Exitus Acta Probat. The End Justifies the Means.
As for Badges related to the Games Board, these are ideas that need not be restricted to the staff community. I will go ahead and make a pertaining suggestion thread in the Badges category.
So, let's lay out whats been proposed so far, whats been done, and what needs to be done.
One thing i proposed that never happened was moving the entire Games category higher up the front page.
I say we restructure the boards as such;
>>Importants ("Announcements" to be moved here) >>Games >>Group Boards (Only visible to Members and High Staff) >>General ("Announcements" "Contests" and "Contest Ideas" to be removed) >>Contests (Created from "Contests" and "Contest Ideas") >>Graphics >>Staff
Announcements are not General, so they should be moved to the Importants board. Games are the heart of the forum. Group Boards are User-Specific, and ought to come before the General Board. General Boards should come next. Contests are worthy of a category all their own, and are active enough to come next. Graphics are as is, but might be swapped places with Contests. Staff stays at the bottom, being the operational caboose.
What do you all think?

In that case, should a category apparently invisible to you but visible to High Staff (i.e. the Contest Discussion Category) become a board within your proposed Contest Category, should the proposition be executed?
Also, The Shadow Lord, GGoodie, and I have began questioning the existence of the custom member categories (not the member groups, the member categories of which you once owned). We probably won't have to worry about the position of categories that will cease to exist, unless you mean to have a Member Groups Category created and the different member boards moved to that category.
Everything else seems good...
NOTE: To avoid confusion, I refer to categories, boards, threads, and posts as Proboards staff tools refer to them. Categories are the general sections visible on the home page, such as "Importants," "General," and "Games." Boards are the collections of threads (or sub-boards) within a single category, such as "Powder Game" and "Announcements." Sub-boards are meta-boards, i.e. boards within boards, such as "Serious Debate" and "Stick Ranger Ideas." Threads are individual topics containing a chain, string or thread of posts (hence the name "thread"), such as this "Games Board Reduction" thread. Posts I hope do not require explanation...
For example, my reply (this one) is a post within the Games Board Reduction thread within the Staff Lounge board inside the Staff category.

Alright, since no one else has done so yet, I've taken the liberty of moving the Games Category underneath the Importants Category.
I also agree with Fox on two things. 1) Moving the Announcements Board to the Importants Category, and 2) Creating a separate category for contests.

This is all fine and dandy, and I like the suggestion....
but who ever fixed the games board forgot something... it still says this:
Talk about any of Dan-Balls other games, such as Rockets, Compasses, or Planet Simulation.
And doesn't mention all the other games at all... could a high staff fix that?

Well, it says "all the other games, such as..." to refer to the games it doesn't explicitly list. If preferred, we could always type out the list of the other eight games...

I agree. Contest Stuff should have their own category.

How will we keep the Contest Discussion currently-category-soon-to-be-board invisible to non-judges? Do we password-protect it? Do we keep it as it is, in its own category for High Staff and Administrators? Do we simply hide the URL and only give access to it in the High Staff board or Staff Lounge?

I think 4 per post in the games category. 3 isn't really enough.
The thing with staff discounts is, if staff need dan-balls, you've got the problem of bribes...
Anyway, we should collapse those boards into the "other" as subboards, yes, and we should also raise dan-ball earnage for the games category. Or just disable post counts in some general boards. Or both.

If staff are able to be bribed, then they shouldn't have been staff from the start.
I already collapsed the games into the "Other" board and put the Games Category above the General Category. I also moved the Announcements Board to the Importants Category.
In the Post Counts thread, Memzak pointed out the problem concerning implementation of the proper coding.

So, just no post count for those boards?

BUMP.
So were we going to or not going to move the Contest boards into a newlyfounded Contest category?

Two days...not much of a bump...
I guess we could simply have the Judges' contest discussion board password-protected, have someone change the password at the termination of each successful contest, and give the password to judges for each contest. That will permit a secretive judging board while keeping it in the same category as publicly accessible boards...

I hope you realise that the boards can be individually restricted to the high staff.
Obviously, if there is one, its already restricted as such.

Yes, we do have a high staff board. It's not very secret.
Anyway, Veers is talking about a temp judge system.

Okay. Well that doesn't seem to be something insanely high security. I don't even know why people would want access to that.
I suppose you could password protect it. Or just open it to staff only and use a trust system. Or both.

We could password protect it, and move the boards from it to the permanent contest board (high staff and admins only) between contests.

We are talking about moving the Contest Discussion Category's boards, which only High Staff and Administrators can see, to a new Contest Category, which will be accessible to the public.
