If one has, say, an unlimited amount of money, are they guaranteed to be happy if they spend it the right way? Does it help? Are there some things money cannot help with, no matter the quantity?

It'll make you happy, to a certain extent.

It depends what your definition of "happiness" is... In my opinion, money isn't necessary to achieve happiness.

Not necessary, no. But can it purchase happiness, in an average case? Not taking into account corruption. Think about it: What situation will there be that money cannot help in?

I find the term Money Brings Happiness a total lie, Sure you can have anything you want and in this day and age you can even by love and friends but none of it is real. Your friends like you for you money, your girl friend/ boy friend wife/ husband loves you because of your money, you have all your nice things because of money but money is a object and not real. In my opinion money is basically fake happiness.

Yes, it brings happiness. Unless the type of money loses its value... Of course, I can't buy love. I can't buy friends, memories, thoughts. But does it bring happiness? Yup. It's human nature, no one can stop it. Everyone has "wants", and when I fulfill those wants I feel happy.

Actually, Matt, it does help to bring good memories... Vacation, anyone?
It can help you travel and meet friends, it can help you study and gain things to think about. As for love, yeah, that can't be bought, but money may help a bit in the search thereof. Anyway, even fake happiness is happiness...

I use money to travel, but the money is only indirectly helping me make new friends. I'm not giving them money to be friends.

Indirect, yes, but it's still money gaining happiness.

Indirect, yes, but it's still money gaining happiness. Then I guess money does bring happiness!

It depends on the person's situation. For example, if one of my parents or a very close friend died, no matter what I bought, I would probably never get over that. There are of course, a few exceptions- people that crave power and could buy their way into a powerful position like the government (*cough* democrats *cough*) could be very happy because of that.
Like I said, it depends on the situation.

Well, you would get over that with time, as everyone does. Anyway, not every democrat buys their position!

Happiness by means of wealth is possible, but quite shallow...

What if it was an infinite amount of wealth?
But, yeah. It's possible, but it's not really TRUE happiness. Not to say that I don't want a large amount of money.

Not to say that I don't want a large amount of money. Ha. Nowadays, who doesn't?
