I was going to open a shop for a Forum Game that doesn't require Dan-Balls... Is it alright if I use a different system of credits?

What system of credits do you plan to use? Do you mean something along the lines of V.I.R.O.S.'s previous shops, in which case in-game credits were used to purchase in-game things? If that's the case, I don't see anything wrong with that.
