This was brought up in chat by vertigo, and I wholeheartedly support it. Although we are the "official" Dan-ball forums, It feels like we are very separated from Dan-Ball. Many of us only knew about this place through advertising on the comment boards or google searching. It seems that a good idea would be to: 1. put an affiliate link to these forums on the homepage of Dan-Ball. 2. in This Page, we should have some links as the official dan-ball forums. I know that Listo has contact with Ha55ii, the owner of the Dan-Ball site, so would you consider asking Ha55ii to add these? Seeing as he already approved these forums, he is probably likely to comply.

I agree with this, it makes no sense that we have to advertise on the comments when we could just put a link on the website.

Why should we advertise on a forum that we officially represent? We should have been connected with it through a permalink as soon as we got the go ahead to actually become the ODBF. Is there a problem I'm not knowing about, besides the contacting Ha55ii part? Or is that the whole problem?

Yeah, if we are "Official" shouldn't Dan-Ball support us?

regarding the "Link" page, that's another thing with the language barrier. The "Link" page is if people want to link back to dan-ball, not for external links.

We can still be added. Under the 'Link to Dan-Ball', it makes a new section titled 'Blog', so they can go another section under an add 'Forum'. Is the contacting of Ha55ii the only problem with this?

This problem has been discussed numerous times in the past, so I'm glad people are actually starting to take it seriously.

Because it came up again on the comments, any news on this topic? I also wonder by whom and when this forum got promoted being "official". I know this thread will be locked in about four posts, but it would really help the community, if that one was cleared once and for all. I used the search, and in the last 300 posts containing "official" there was no single one even remotely proving the official and thelisto. Only Qwertyuiop ThePie said he has seen code before it was in PG once, but that doesn't prove anything to me unless I exactly know before what version he has seen what code. I'm pretty sure, before I started posting here I could have convinced everyone of you I was a coder for SR... *edit* It was also said, that the name Listo appeared on ha55iis blog, but it doesn't look like that to me: link1 link2

What about the google links? Why should they be the reason to lock this thread?

Cause listo's will see them and not read any of our post, following with a lock.

So listo doesn't allow links showing he is not mentioned by ha55ii?

Disabled clearly didn't search enough. Whomever said it would be named "TheListo" in a reference?

This is not an official forum, it is not mentioned on the Danball site or on Ha55ii's blog. An official forum would have at least one of these things.
You can't just call yourselves official, you need an actual connection with the site.

Or show us some evidence besides "I have seen prove" or "TheListo is coder" or "you see it was suggested here"...

This forum has been proven official multiple times in the past. Just because you weren't around back then doesn't mean that it isn't. Anyway, project DB-PAL is going well, and in the meantime we will keep the "Official" name.

For April Fool's Day, and partially on behalf of the "we aren't truly official until proven" arguments, we are now officially the "Purportedly Official Dan-Ball Forums." Look at the title bar of your browser frame, look at the tag in your browser, and look at the text links above every page that isn't the Home page.

This forum has been proven official multiple times in the past. Care to give an example you can actually link to? Anyway, project DB-PAL is going well. Which is...?

This forum has been proven official multiple times in the past. Just because you weren't around back then doesn't mean that it isn't. Anyway, project DB-PAL is going well, and in the meantime we will keep the "Official" name. This forum doesn't have the title for the forum or for you qwerty. This forum has the title "official" for the users, like me or the ones who did not yet join. If the users think this forum is not official, If the comments board thinks this forum is not official, it is not the users loss, it is the loss of the forum, it is your loss. You should have every reason to prove it to your users and not only to you. Every day you are advertising this forum. And everyday someone posts "this forum is fake" too. If you could convince them, convince me, it would be much easier to convince new users to join here. But it seems you have no interest in others knowing this forum is official for real.
