Your opinion is based on religion, which has no basis in reality, and is, therefore, not applicable to this conversation.
Oh, wait, nevermind, it actually uses logic. Scratch that last bit.
And, ayup. You stayed out of it as much as I can stay out of an entire pool full of bacon.

You're kidding right? You know what I really, really hate? Those who believe that just because a gay person can marry someone of the opposite sex means that laws in the United States based off of religion are fair. 1. A straight person has the right to marry someone they love and/or are sexually attracted too. 2. A homosexual person does not have the right to marry someone they love and/or are sexually attracted too. You're looking at it the wrong way, again. Ultimately, if you want to make it as simple as possible, it all boils down to this: ANY person, straight or homosexual, has the right to marry someone of the opposite sex. Now, of course, if someone's homosexual, it negates that. If someone's homosexual, it's their fault, not the law's. The law is perfectly fair.

Yeah well, if you put it that way then i guess black school children got it fair too since the law used to let them be taught the same as white kids; just in run-down crappy schools.
Here, why don't you try to think about this. If the law stated that only homosexual marriage was allowed, would you be angry? Would you want it changed?

Now, of course, if someone's homosexual, it negates that. If someone's homosexual, it's their fault, not the law's. The law is perfectly fair. It is not their fault. Being gay is not something someone decides to be, they are born that way. My sister's friend is a homosexual, and he has been ever since he was born. It's like segregating blacks and whites, women and men. It's not their fault they are black, white, man or woman, they were born that way, and homosexuals should not be seen any differently.

It's not about the gender they can marry, it's about whether or not they can marry someone they are actually in love with.

I do hope you realise that you are being highly homophobic. Not only that, your 'logic' is complete nonsense. You cannot say that the law is fair to both parties when their implications on each party are entirely different. You are purposefully ignoring the fact that this law means a gay man may not marry the person who they would naturally fall in love with, whereas the same cannot be said of the straight man. There is an obvious difference in the choice avaliable, so of course it is a matter of rights. And also, Saying that its a homosexual's fault for being gay is as ludicrous as saying that it is a black person's fault for being black. There is no difference. TBH, this thread was better before you started stating your homophobic opinion.

TBH, this thread was better before you started stating your homophobic opinion. He merely expressed his opinion, which is perfectly fine, especially in a board about debating.

OR IF you feel it contributes to the discussion. The debate board has no extra rules.

It only contributes to the discussion if you back it up...
It says in the rules, don't just post "yes" or "no" or an equivalent.

That's an equivalent. Stating "I don't like this idea" is practically the same as "no".

Yes, but it makes the thread seem more popular.
Hmm. Okay, here's one: How is gay marriage any worse than biracial marriage?
