Yeah, the animate my avatar contest was a good idea that just never caught on.
The drink machine contest is a pretty good idea, but needs some fine tuning in the judging standards. He doesn't seem to know what he wants to judge on.

If you guys want, you can take a look at the "Chemical Mixing Contest" rules that I made who knows how long ago. If you decide to use them, revise them as necessary. I will find it for you... The chemical mixer contest is an idea i [Foxtrotzero] had. It is an atempt to make the best chemical mixer you can. Winner will be determined on Versatility, features, how easy it is to use, and how reliable it is. For those of you who do not know, a chemical mixer is a device that allows you to activate and then cut off the pouring of certain chemicals (liquids, usually not powders) to create your own brews. They are similar to , but different from drink machines, as they do not try to pass off oil as coca-cola. A great powder game player known as Bugs@socks created complex chemical pourers that could activate and eventually be shut off, but the problem is that these machines used practiced timing with C-4 fuses and automatic valves, that could only pour one element unless certain fuses were cut in certain places, sometimes rendering some element dispencers unactivatable. Rest assured complex devices are always interesting, but one such as Bugs' will not get you grand prize.
- CONTROL: Any user, especially the judges, should be able to choose a chemical to pour, be able to pour continuously, and stop pouring it. All three actions should be possible for all elements that are available to choose. The highest score for this criterion should be awarded to the upload that can pour multiple elements and stop pouring those elements upon the user's discretion (not necessarily simultaneously). Automatic disqualification will be issued to the upload that pours on its own without any way for a user to choose what (s)he wants/to stop the pouring. An example of an upload that does not meet this criterion would have liquids floating above the primary container when STOPped.
25% of TOTAL SCORE
- CLARITY: Any user, especially the judges, should be able to determine how to mix chemicals or see what action will pour what chemical (e.g. "Does this line of C4 activate the magma or stop the nitro?") either through obviousness, help from well-placed labels, or help from clear directions. The lowest possible scoring for this criteria would be "awarded" to the upload that has no directions, no labels, and no way to determine what does what. The highest possible scoring for this criteria would be awarded to the upload that has directions, has labels, and does not need either of them to be used (i.e. "a monkey could do it").
25% of TOTAL SCORE
- RELIABILITY: The chance that there will be some accidental clog, explosion, or other minor or major "catastrophe" should be negligible. The lowest score from this criterion should be "awarded" to the upload that has a 100% chance of failing. The highest score from this criterion should be awarded to the upload that has a 0% chance of failing.
20% of TOTAL SCORE
- NUMBER OF ELEMENTS TO BE MIXED: There should be multiple liquids and solids able to be dispensed into some primary retainer. Automatic disqualification will be issued to an entry with only one element "to be mixed" (how can you mix ONE element? Mixing implies the physical combination of multiple entities.).
20% of TOTAL SCORE
- CREATIVITY & ORIGINALITY: New, original, creative ways of dispensing entities should be evident (e.g. of all the entries for judging, only one of them does not use the LOOP function). The upload should be unique, the only one of its kind, etc. An entry that is the only one to fail to follow all of the other criteria IS NOT ELIGIBLE FOR POINTS FROM THIS CRITERION.
5% of TOTAL SCORE
- VISUAL APPEAL: The upload should be aesthetically (visually) pleasing. No one should be able to guess that the upload was a first upload. Anything with the quality of sendai45's pixel art would (according to the public) pass this criterion with full points.
5% of TOTAL SCORE
- HONESTY: The mixer should do anything that it says it can do. Automatic disqualification will be issued to an upload that claims to mix a number of elements when it cannot, claims it is a first upload when it is not, etc.
There is no score, but simply determines disqualification.

- Maybe Tomorrow
- General Veers
- Monochrome

From experience, we only had two entries for this contest when it was open for four months and five days. Hopefully, a drink mixer will get more entries...

I think we should make it a contest under these standards:
Usability: The user should be able to choose a liquid to pour, be able to pour continuously, and stop pouring it. All three actions should be possible for all elements that are available to choose. Automatic disqualification will be issued to the upload that pours on its own without any way for a user to choose what (s)he wants/to stop the pouring.
Quantity: There should be multiple liquids and solids able to be dispensed into some primary retainer.
Originality: The entry should be unique, not a ripoff of another entry. Similarity is okay, but the more unique an entry the better it will be judged
Appeal: The entry should be neat looking. A messy, unorganized machine will be frowned upon.
EDIT: I gave my approval, so vacon, if you like this contest we can start it.
