You're right, we CAN'T have too many milestone badges!
Also, I think we should go with the (narrowing it down) 5k posts, 10k posts, and 25kdb.
Also, Board Owner clearly isn't official, because it doesn't have the little flare in the corner. Same with Haxor, Vet, 5, 10, 20, Spam, and Admin.

The crown was put on by SW for pretty much random badges, and the little swirl thing is only for the custom official badges like TSL's or Memzak's.

Then why is the swirl thing on all the badges, and only the Respect badge has the crown (which i thought was part of it)

Badges made by SW are generally official, with a few exceptions. The official badges don't need the crown, they just have to be on the list of official badges.
We really should keep most of SW's badges, though. He's a major figure in forum history, and it's not like we can just forget him.
The swirl thing was added by SW to all the badges he made. Sort of a signature of his. Trivia: The Nonja badge was the last badge he ever made for the forums.

Yes, but it's SW's little swirl, and we have yet to get a GA of his quality.

Thats arguable.
I suppose what I'm going to get at, at this point (not being my original intention) is that, Seeing as how they are already official badges, if there is any rule preventing me from makingmy own version of the badge.

Well then, that adds to my list of things to get done today. Which, i suppose i could pile on top of the other insignificant graphics work and the projects i've to be doing...

Not to be that guy who says this, but does that mean we're done discussing the RPG badge?

We may as well approve it, although it should definitely count for people that have struck gold in the past. That's how the artsy badge and the haxxor badge work, anyway.

But how many pages? I mean, VIROS most likely deserves it, possibly ArchZero, but where's the exact boundary at which point a forum game can be said to be really popular? And what if someone gets it multiple times?

Ugh, you can only have a badge once, and like i said, do it like the artsy badge, judge each case individually. Not everything needs a perfectly ordered system. If your not sure get a few other staff opinions to help you decide if someone earns it.

Okay, makes sense. So we can instate it once someone makes it. Once we get a graphic artist. Once our applicants fulfill the requirements so we can judge them. Unless anyone wants to volunteer?

What about a noob of the month badge?

That's an idea, but I think "rookie" may be a better idea. Although newbie is more fitting. Noob is more negative than Newbie.
