This is a list of the current methods of earning dan-balls. It is obviously not complete. I ask that this is announced for one week, for the reference of all new members. All new rewards and prizes will be placed here. To claim a reward, you can either PM a staff member, post it on the reward's thread (if there is one), or post it here. Posting:You earn ¥2 for each post, ¥ (alt 0165) being one of the official connotations for the Dan-Ball. This is one of the easiest methods to earn them. Upload Advertising:For every upload that you upload that involves an advertisement for the forums, you earn ¥50. Uploads must have some form of quality, not just the URL and a "Go Here" in all C4 text. Comment Advertising:For each advertisement on the Dan-Ball Comments or in another location, you earn ¥4. Advertisements must have some form of quality, not just a link. Recruitment:For every member that you convince to join the forums, that make at least 5 posts, you earn ¥500. Fraud will not be tolerated. Stores:You can start your own store in the Dan-Ball Shop. Yield depends on your ability, demand for your products, and also price. Each store must contain at least three items, and you must not steal anyone else's work. Badge Ideas:If you submit an idea for a badge, and it is accepted, you earn ¥100. Contest Ideas:Posting a contest idea that is accepted will get you ¥100. Contests:Rewards are given out for participating in contests.Current Contests: Game Prizes:You can win prizes for being epic at Dan-Ball games. You can, after the contests are done, win ¥5,000 for a perfect game of Irritation Stickman, or you can win ¥1,000 for beating the previous Mine Tower record. Badge Reward:When you earn a badge, you gain ¥25. The exception is with people re-earning the Active badge.

I ask that this is permanently announced, for the reference of all new members. I ask this to be put into the "Important Links for New Members" Announcement. Anybody who is interested in that kind of stuff will look there anyways, everyone who isn't has one less announcement to skip. Oh boy, why this unofficial stuff? Either make it official or none at all. Did you just come up with it, or was there a discussion about it? Because else I would say å is another "unofficial connotation for the Dan-Ball".

I just came up with it for ease of writing this article, so yeah, I'd call it unofficial until it's at least semi-widely used.
I'll put it into Important Links for New Members, but I'll keep this up as an announcement for a week so that existing members can see it as well. There are some new rewards here.

Hurrah! I swapped the location in the guide to match.

I honestly don't want badges and most of the rewards I don't even care for.
So...Any chances of getting a gold sink? I am willing to waste my dan balls just to increase my karma or post count or even something more useless like playing an arcade using 25-50 dan ball per game.
Anyway why the symbol yen? That already being used...Should we just change the name from dan ball (which is a name of a site and should not be a poorly chosen name for currency) to yen which is a real currency?

I'm using the symbol for yen. You know, there are multiple currencies using the $ sign, why not the ¥ sign? Anyway, you can't buy karma or post count.

¥? That's a real currency (duh). I like DB just fine, who the heck decided this??? Why don't we change it to µF and make my ego awesomely proud of itself?
It's stupid to use ¥, it's a real currency. I for one would rather create a new, and utterly useless currency than use confused symbols. This is ridiculous.
Okay! From now on, until the Dan Ball currency's symbol is changed, I will only accept or trade in µF. I am the mint of my currency, and can make as much as I want. My shop will only accept µF. You can earn µF by doing me special favors. Notify any transactions to me, I will keep track of everybody's µF. If you would like to engage for the first time in using µF I will give you 100µF for free, this may or may not be worth anything depending on how high I decide to make inflation.

So is $, but it's used a lot.
I wanted another alt code, but this one fit best, and it's not worth it to say "DBs" every time.
If you want a custom currency, fine, but keep in mind nobody has any right now.

Shouldn't we come up with a symbol for currency that's easiest for even the most keyboard impaired person to write? It seems easier to remember something like Shift + 4 = $ or (Shift + d)+(Shift + b) + s = DBs (or heck, even just "dbs") than to remember Alt + 0 + 1 +...uh...I think it was 5? no 6...wait, I have to look at your post again. yeah ok it was 6 + and then 5 = ....and it doesn't even work for me because I'm on a laptop. I honestly don't mind saying "DBs" all the time. pressing 3-4 keys (depending on if you're capitalizing letters or not) isn't really that trivial of a task.

Well, thank you Air Alchemist. Maybe I will be able to resume using DBs soon instead of µF. That was a very rash decision to vow only to use µF until the ¥ is no longer the DB symbol.

Then go ahead. It's only used in such things as this, where DBs would be too long to write out. Personally, I'll still use DBs regardless.
MF, you realize that that only purchases things that you sell, that absolutely nobody has any, and it's not good for any dan-ball items, making it about as useful as the number of letters in this post, right?
Of all of the things in this thread, I didn't figure use of the Yen symbol would be the worst part of it. Really, if you hate it so much, why don't you suggest a new one? And no, the micro-F does not count.

yeah, you're right. as long as people know that you're still talking about DanBalls, currency symbols don't matter.
So a different subject: Are each of the things you listed in your first post in other threads, Qwerty? if not, you may want to be more specific on some things, like how just saying to come to the forums and the site address on an upload with nothing else on it doesn't really count for advertising for DBs.

Here's an idea: φ (ALT+237) It is rarely used.

But that's (1 + 5^(1/2)) / 2!
Exclamation, not factorial...
Maybe we should continue not to have any official symbol for Dan-Balls, so long as we all know to what we refer...

It will be announced for one week so that the old members can see the new rewards. I added some. After that time, it will be returned to normal.
That's what I planned, anyway. I goofed up in writing the first post.
Have you people even read the post? The new rewards?

oh. my. God.
...
are you seriously arguing over this? Dan-Balls are Dan-Balls, dbs, DBs, whatever you want to call them so long as it's obvious that the symbol stands for Dan-Balls. but to argue about this? I mean, come on, really?
