I believe a mature section should be put in...obviously certain things still wouldn't be permitted...but, like, mature discussions, and you could talk about stuff that might offend others.
All in favor?

Interesting... Where would it go? What would go in it? Wouldn't it just be like Serious Debate?
We should probably add a post limit on it. Full Member and higher, just to make sure they aren't a spambot?

If I were to permit biased opinion lacking some rationale to enter this, I would have to type that these forums are primarily for Dan-Ball games, which are for users of all ages, and that we shouldn't close ourselves off to certain audience members on account of "mature content"...
...but this is an interesting idea. I'm not sure how TheListo would respond to it, considering the questionable subject at hand.
If this idea were to be accepted, this would possibly create a haven where questionable language could be segregated from the rest of the forums, allow certain members to channel their incomprehensible will to "think dirty," and, with those wills emptied out, permit cleaner discussion in chat and the rest of the forums.
On the same note, if this idea were to be accepted, I fear that members who use this "dirty haven" might get into a stronger habit of talking with reduced or eliminated inhibitions, and with those habits reinforced, begin using them outside of the "roped-off" location. They might come up with excuses indicating that "they just got out of the 'Mature Board'" and "haven't adjusted to the 'clean' parts yet"...

yea, those are two different (but completely reasonable) ways to look at it...
would people "talk dirty" less around the forums because they can let it out in this mature board (almost like the spam board) or would they get so used to "talking dirty" that they'd do it more often everywhere else around the forums...
hmmm... I hope that if we were to create this board it would mop up the "dirty talk" from the rest of the forums. We can't be certain unless it it implemented though...

so should we maybe have a small vote to see if we should add the board and then see if in improves or decreases the quality of the rest of the forums' posts...

reserving opinion until clarification, would this be for only members we think are old or mature enough to handle it? or all members that have a certain amount of posts?

Or over a certain age? Is there a code or something which can restrict ages?

that is part of my point. this is the internet and as such we have no guarentees of personal information such as age. if we did it by maturity there would be dispute between those with the power to allow members onto the board as to the actual maturity of some members. even if we agree on someone, it could turn out that they are nothing like we thought. in addition this would be a bit of a hassle.
however, if it is done mearly by posts, then the "Mature" board will be open to some of the least mature members on the forum. i

No. I mean, anyone can go there if they want...there just might be...more adult...content there.
*not implying anything* *looks at Dhoom* *still doesn't imply anything*

Technically, the name of the board in question is a misnomer in the same manner that "gentlemen's club" is a misnomer, is it not?

It is for acting mature, not saying "LOL BAWLS I SED BAWLS" (Totally quoted Listo on that). It's not a spam board. It's a board where you can swear or discuss rather mature content and such, and you have to be mature about it or be booted. So, yes, it is a "mature" board for "mature" people only.
We would have to make it in a new category (mature) and with a post limit (I'm thinking "Full Member").

Erm, but then people who are like 11 could enter it :/

People who are like 11 should technically not be on the forums.
Even if we add an age limit, everyone would just change their age.

In other words, S4 here would like to see the board, but with the needed post restrictions.
Do we have consensus?

Yes, I think it we should have a Mature Section, it would be interesting to see. But I was wondering what kind of Mature things? Mature as in Adult...? Or Mature as in seriousness and talking about sensitive topics? Edit: Also, we might have to take account the Terms Of Service Of Proboards or other legal matters?

ShiningSilver? Posting? The end of the world is upon us!
It's not like we would be discussing porn. It's as in seriousness and sensitive topics.

I rate that we have a warning in the Board describing text, maybe something like: Enter at your own risk. or, You need to be (number) old to enter, you have been warned...
and also have a reasonable amount of posts...
