that almost every time a staff member doesn't like a thread, they lock it even though it's not breaking any rules?
that more than one staff member has said to make a new thread to discuss locked subjects, but when a new thread is made, it is locked immediately?
that staff members constantly have discussions in locked threads?
that a good third of our active members are staff?
that we had a staff demotion from about 12 staff to about 7 staff, only to have 3 more people hired after wards?
that people on chat are banned for things that aren't against any rules?
I'm just sayin...

that almost every time a staff member doesn't like a thread, they lock it even though it's not breaking any rules? Usually it's just Listo who does that. Most of us don't. that more than one staff member has said to make a new thread to discuss locked subjects, but when a new thread is made, it is locked immediately? Examples, please? that staff members constantly have discussions in locked threads? I admit, we really need to stop doing that. that a good third of our active members are staff? More like half. And I hate it just as much as you. that we had a staff demotion from about 12 staff to about 7 staff, only to have 3 more people hired after wards? I also hate this. I absolutely despise it. To all other staff: What part of "We're not hiring any more staff right now" do you guys not understand?!?!?!?!?? that people on chat are banned for things that aren't against any rules? Examples, please?

I will admit, its almost always listo who tells me to make a new thread when i ask him to unlock things. Its also usually fox or KO who threaten to (and sometimes do) ban me for doing things like saying 'so and so has sand in their anatomically correct body part ' or if we get in a debate over something like rules or politics.

I see your point - our staff:active member ratio is quite high at ~67%, assuming 15 active members...
What ratio is acceptable?

I would say 25% or less.
Actually, I think it was still pretty good just after the demotions, when we had 7 or 8 staff. We decided a long time ago that we were not hiring any more staff. We really need to be strict about that, Veers. I was ok with hiring Izacque, since we needed a GA, but Micro Farad and Vertigo SHOULD NOT have been hired under any circumstances. No means no. Now we're pretty much back to square one.

TSL, you approved it yourself, so I wouldn't talk about really hating it and blaming the other staff for it. We are all at fault here.
We cut it down to only the vital staff members, and we needed a GA, although I still dunno about the cat mods. Keep in mind that we hired them because they were chat mods, and it was a choice between demoting them from chat mod or hiring them to forum staff.
And why are you talking to Veers only about it? I believe I should be involved in this. I'm the same rank as you two, if you didn't notice.
Also, we have more than 15 active users, if you count the few new users and those that only really use one or two boards, plus the people that are active but do not go on chat much. Not many more, but still, more.
As for the lock thing, if a thread is locked, I highly suggest you don't just remake the thread. That is highly annoying and would actually earn a ban on most large forums.
Calling someone's vagina sandy actually is against rules, believe it or not.

No its not. It is if you wanna be a [Censored by General Veers], but if you wanna run a forum that people actually like, then it isn't.

It's called flaming. People don't like forums that are stuffed full of people talking about sandy vaginas everywhere.

Secondly, I believe we should've demoted them from chat modship in the first place. We could always hire them in the future if we saw fit to do so. Thirdly, I was talking to Veers because he was the only other High Staff member present in this thread at the time.

They were fine chat mods. There was no reason to demote them. Sorry, I thought you supported their joining.

So, does this mean we need to reconsider their staffship? Do we need to go from ~67% to ~53%?

You are, again, forgetting the new members and the semi-active ones. They have done nothing to earn demotion, and we promised them one month. We can take care of it after that month.
Maybe we can work out a couple more people to fire.
The main point was not, in fact, to get rid of staff members. It was to replace staff members with ones that may do their job better.

So, does this mean we need to reconsider their staffship? Do we need to go from ~67% to ~53%? Yes, but that is a discussion for the Staff Lounge, not here. We're kinda hijacking GGoodie's thread. Back on topic.

So before you start pointing fingers at certain individuals look at yourselves and others around you. Which is exactly what I did. I wasn't trying to be rude or accusive, I was simply stating my observations.

Thats why you should be talking to TSL in private or in your own thread, instead of hijacking mine. I think you just earned your self a warning level there listo.
And qwerty, its called being laid-off. You don't need to do anything, the only reason is there are too many people hired. And also, tbh I dont think they did anything to deserve to be hired either. There are other members with more experience here who would make great staff. (not that they should be hired either, unless you demote someone to make room)

Qwerty, even if you and the other staff believed Vertigo and MF were fit to be staff, the bottom line is we weren't looking for any more in the first place.

TSL, I assumed you approved it. I'm fine with layoffs now, I guess. Now, about Kurai. I'd post it in the high staff lounge, but I should put it somewhere people can actually see, because people seem to think that if it happens in the high staff board, it didn't really happen. When was he last online?

Probably an extended absense, we can leave him for now.
