Prologue
A mass pollution has wreaked havoc on the world. Everyone is a zombie. This happened 4 years ago. The only safe places are the North and South Poles. I, along with a large group of survivors, must face the barren wastelands and dreading terrors that await... in Antartica.
Brian finished writing in his small notebook and got up. Walking to the pilots, he wanted to see how close they were to Antartica. "Don't worry, Brian," the pilot said. "We're nearly there." Walking back to his seat on the plane, he overheard a discussion between Kevin and Shawn. "...I know, Kevin, but we're still in danger. We could end up freezing to death or get killed by zombies. Worse yet, we could BECOME zombies if they get to us." "Don't worry, Shawn, I hear the continent is a lot warmer than it used to be. Still cold, but warm enough for us to survive." Becoming a little more nervous and a little safer, Brian sat down and quietly waited to reach Antartica.
When they landed, it was indeed warmer than the frozen tundras like it was far back in time. Although they still needed to wear moderately thick coats, it was warm enough to survive in. It was surprising nobody lived here. As Brian walked with the others, he heard a female voice call his name. "Brian!" Turning around, he saw Lindsey running toward him. "Brian. Did you hear? Nobody lives here. No zombies." "Don't get too happy, Lindsey. This won't last." Brian had a harsh voice, and these words made it seem even harsher. Looking scared, Lindsey frowned, and they rejoined the rest of their group. Although they'd be safe from zombies, they still had two problems : Where to set up camp, and the many animals that lurk in Antartica.
Searching for a place with thick ice, thick enough to set up camp, they arrived at a large cavelike structure, which didn't go too deep, but nothing lived there, and it was deep enough for every single person to set up camp there. Brian and Kevin, two best friends, set up their camp in the middle. George, Lindsey, and Shawn were next to them. The others had different spots. Afterwards, the group built a wall-like structure to block any unwelcomed beings from getting in the cave. The group had keys that allowed only them to get inside the cave.
Grabbing M16s, Kevin, Brian, and Shawn all went looking for food to feed everyone. This will be long, so they need as much food as they could get. They broke a large whole in the ice to find a good spot of freezing water. Seeing a leopard seal, Brian shot it repeatedly until it floated up. Carrying it back to the rest of the group, they returned to find a flock of penguins. Shooting a number of them, they also carried them to the rest of the group. They built a chimney and made a fire, then enjoyed their meal.
After finishing their meal, Brian and Kevin walked outside to keep guard. Holding their M16s, they stood, alert and ready for anything. A polar bear cub walked up to them, as if it had lost it's mother. Brian smiled at the cub and patted its head. Offering it leftovers of the leopard seal, Brian saw something in the snow. Walking up to it, he saw a corpse. A human corpse. Somebody was here. Running back to the cave, he saw a lone zombie walking towards it. He aimed his rifle, but it seemed Kevin had already noticed. Moments later, the zombie was already dead, and Brian didn't fire a single bullet.
"This is gonna be a snowy hell," Kevin said, with a grim look on his face. "Tell me about it," Brian muttered. Shawn ran outside, shotgun fully loaded in his hand, shouting "What happened here?!" Kevin calmly replied "Easy, Shawn. Zombies are here too. But judging from the look of things, only a few are able to develop to the icy weather. The others froze and shattered to bits. These Frost Zombies are a threat, now that they exist." Brian decided he'd look ahead for another zombie or two. He saw a small group of Frost Zombies feasting on someone's corpse. Their pilot's corpse. Blood was splattered everywhere. Brian aimed his rifle, then fired a round at each zombie. They staggered for a moment, then slowly crumbled. Looking pleased with himself, Brian heard a scream at the cave. He ran back, to find Kevin badly injured, and Shawn... dead. Frost Zombies had gotten inside, he ran in and began shooting them like a psychopath. It seemed only Shawn was killed. "Let's go. This place is no longer safe now." Brian got everybody up, and wrapped linen around Kevin's leg and hoisted him over his shoulder. They had to find a new home before they are killed by zombies.
