SR3.5 has landed! This update brings us a new level (probably Cavern 2, judging by the picture) and new weaponry for the gunner. Post your thoughts and discoveries here.
NEW LEVEL: Cavern 2
Enemies
Purple Skullbat
aka Gloombat. Attacks with a purple jabbing arrow. Drops $50
Mauve Skullbat
Similar in colouration to the Purple Skullbat, most likely due to the lack of exposure to sunlight. Attacks with a mauve double spike. Drops $50
Pink ChaoHead Bat
Can be referenced as however it is you see it. I see their heads to be like Chao (plural) from the Sonic Adventure series. Attacks with pink shockwaves. Has a tendency to keep away from the rangers, use this to flush them out if the ranged attackers can't get them. Drops $100
Smiley Goldfish
Think of the regular goldfish with a smiley face instead of a snake head. Exactly the same otherwise. Takes 1 damage per hit. Drops $777.
BOSS: Giant White Skullbat
A giant bat not unlike what would be expected in stereotypical cave levels. Has 10 Mauve Skullbats. Attack consists of 10 grey spikes being shot in a random pattern, but at roughly the same time. Takes a long time to kill with a Poison Sniper and a Volcano Mage, considering it acts like the Pink Chaohead Bats by flying away from the rangers. Counter this by dragging your Glad/Boxer so that the Boss is between the rangers. It'll fly away from the dragged ranger, also attacking it, but it'll be more susceptible to the other rangers, if you manage to ground it. Drops $700.
Weaponry![/u] As has been mentioned by Dude and superpickle, there are new weapons for the Gunner in this update. They are:
Rifle
Dropped by Green Smiley Tree, Grassland 5
AT of 20-40
Agility of 50-60
Range of 120
Costs $10 to use
Physical element, Secondary AT of 0-0 (no secondary effects)
My Thoughts: Very useful weapon, high AT power, very good range Best used for aerial enemies/enemies that are dangerous in close range.
Grenade (sorry for how hard it is to see the text)
Dropped by Giant Orange Smiley Wheel, Grassland 7 Boss
AT of 8-12
Agility of 70-80
Range of 60
Costs $25 to use
Fire element, Secondary AT of 2-6
My Thoughts: I'm not a fan of this weapon. It could act like a gunner's version of Volcano, except a bit weaker. As the Gunner shoots at the closest enemy, only half of the flames would hit the other enemies, unless they move around a lot. Really only recommended for ground crowd battles, or stationary enemies.
Railgun
Dropped by Small RedSkull Humanoid, Castle Gate
AT of 8-12
Agility of 20-30
Range of 50
Costs $20 to use
Fire element, Secondary AT of 0-0 (no secondary effects)
My Thoughts: Definitely the ranged crowd-killing gun. Pierces everything, does average damage, but hits multiple enemies if shot correctly. Is biblically strong in my book. A Guide's Card could make it useful in close quarters too.
Bazooka
Dropped by Blastcaps, Forest 1 Bosses
AT of 40-60
Agility of 80-90
Range of 60
Costs $30 to use
Physical element, Secondary AT of 20-30 (most likely from a blast radius)
My Thoughts: The strongest weapon in the game thus far, shooting the Bazooka releases a huge green bullet that, on contact, creates 4 damaging clouds that do about half the damage of the main shot. This of course makes it extremely destructive if used correctly (as hexxon has kindly demonstrated) but with it comes a hefty cost of $30/shot. The definitive "problem solver".
The title of the gun's text denotes its barrel colour. The Rifle is a powerful long-range weapon. Grenade Launcher seems to shoot incendiary grenades. The railgun is the SMG, but better, and the Bazooka is the Gunner's "problem solver", with the Highest regular AT of all in-game weapons. I'll test them out when I get onto my Gunner game. Tested the new guns, check "My Thoughts".
And by the looks of things, yes, the two holes appear to connect.
