The Book has just robbed the Wiki of its use, just as you have robbed me of creating the thread =( jkjk
Still, the Wiki shall be updated.

Book contains all the information ppl need.. every monster have now known LP, lvl and .. everything..
There are no droprates in the Book.. And we still need place to place info about weapons, stones, compos and lot more stuff.
Yeah.. The book did terrible thing to wiki.. but i don't think wiki will be no use from now.
And one more thing... The Book shows exp earned by killing a monster.. but still exp gained when you are at propper lvl.
I think you could make a tabe to show how much exp you get for killing him at every lvl.

The book may be expanded over time to include info on items and weapons. Most accounts are brimming with money since it is of not much use (cheap inn, one slotted weapons from shop), and is much more accurate (an in-game encyclopedia made by the official creators of the game, vs a wiki made by fans that may be vandalised any time and that might be inaccurate). Speaking of inaccuracies, I'm very shocked at the inaccuracy of many LP values in the wiki before this update. I remembered the Wiki displaying "110 LP" when the enemy actually had 230 LP - a world of a difference. This update couldn't have came at a better time.

I'm liking this update. It's very much a throwback to Symphony of the Night or Rondo of Blood, cause if you had the money, you could buy videos that show how to defeat a boss or a set of enemies. This isn't exactly like that, but you know what I mean. Anyway, to the Castle Gate! *aways*

I am of the mind that books are very helpful, especially because of the validity of their sources. And who said that the wiki couldn't be made to match? Books have to be purchased, the wiki doesn't... Speaking of paying, here's how you "borrow a book": - Save progress by going to a different screen and seeing "Save OK" appear
- Go to library
- Purchase a book
- Read it
- Refresh page before leaving town
You have the information without the hole in you wallet! Also... - Get code before buying book
- Buy and read book
- Set code before leaving town
As for onigiri, they still give 20% of total health, so does the update mean that the most damaged ranger in a group who "simultaneously have access" to an onigiri gets the onigiri before the less-damaged ones? I couldn't test this group theory out yet...

Yep General Veers, that makes the books highly exploitable. By the time a player has gotten to the Castle/Lake, he probably has more than enough money to overcome the five-digit barrier.
That's what happens when you implement save functions like they do. Also, it further encourages social gaming (i.e. people like us teaming up to obtain information).

On the subject ofthe BOOK, I looked at all of the pages, and I would suggest buying Grasslands 3-7 and then castle gate.

Or flipping the Wiki for free XD Anyway, I believe the only thing the books are used for is to search for "missing drops". This is especially so if you play without social inteference, i.e. does not use ODBF, comment boards or wiki. Since drops are few and far between, the books can be used to tell which items you missed.

Not bad. Books are too $%#ing expensive. I have everything until GL5 (OS, GL1-4), and since I started over so I can restructure my account, GL6 hasn't been beaten and neither has castle!

Are you kidding?! They're overly cheap late-game. Amassing a 5 digit sum of money is trivial at late game. I wonder where you have been spending all your money.... unless you don't farm and are underleveled. And I don't think it's a wasted [update] miczu. Knowledge is power!

I looked at all the pages of the book, then just bought the ones I mentioned earlier. I think it is much easier to look there than to go to the wiki. They have everything that a certain monster can drop, and all the info on the monster. You have to go to more than one place for th same thing on the wiki.

It only has information about the enemies; the wiki has information on everything.

Yes, but if I wanted to find where to get a periot for example, I would have to load the wiki, which takes a long tim for me,and go to the page and everything.
Now I only need to go to the town, and open a book.

The book, already on game but for a cost with limited info, has its advantages and disadvantages.
The wiki, free with unlimited info but on a different webpage, has its advantages and disadvantages.*
...unless you're like me and you don't give a care about whether a complete guide is on a separate page, in which case it only has advantages...

Yep, it kinda has.
But we need to find out what this mean.
Hit algorithm change of onigiri. (low LP priority)

I'd've thought it was rather obvious. Say an Onigiri appears, and when it's collectible, two rangers are touching it. The ranger with the lower HP will get it. The same applies if they're all on one onigiri, but that's harder to pull off. I haven't tested this yet, so this is only a theory. I'm going to test it now. Or at least I would if I didn't have the attention span of a falling rock.
