The forest 2 boss is quite hard, and his poison shot things hurt you a lot.

It was actually a good update this week. ha55ii is still having fun messing with our naming system with the whole fog thing... The boss killed me twice I was so annoyed.

Use blizzard, in which case 9-10 bombs will only prompt the boss to attack with up to two separate poison attacks per blizzard attack.
NEVER GROUP EVERYONE TOGETHER! BE PATIENT WITH ONE RANGER WITH SLOW, POWERFUL ATTACK.
That's how I won.

The boss poison is really bad!
You can also use the gladiator or boxer if there are no small mushrooms around the boss. You do a few hits, and before the poision shots are coming down you drag him away.
/me
PS: I think the high MAG values for Boxer and Gladiator are now really worth spending them, since there are now two MP50 and MP70 weapons. Of course, this could quickly turn around with a good non-magical weapon.

Flame sword seems to have the exact same powerup mechanicsm as Lightsaber, but the latter does significantly more magical damage (average 6 as compared to 2). Are there any good points of the flame sword, to make up for the disrepancy in damage?
The boss - you'll have to solo it. A ranged character is preferable, but melee works well too. Simply whack and run when the bullet comes down. The poison does a whopping 100 dmg to characters (equivalent to 2 poison arrows), so avoid at all costs.

So is Volcanoe better than Thunder? And why aren't they updating the priest? (I wish they'd finally implement the school so I can change him to a boxer...)

This level is definately not an easy one, even though the mushrooms stay in one place and only attack when attacked.

So is Volcanoe better than Thunder? And why aren't they updating the priest? (I wish they'd finally implement the school so I can change him to a boxer...) It could be the Flame Blade lasts longer (ie the Lightsabre appears and disappears, the Flame Blade appears, goes forwards in the direction it was spawned for a second or two, then dies) than the Lightsabre. That and it looks cooler. I've not tried the Gloves as I have a Glad/Snip/Magi/Prie setup. The Volcano weapon is definitely the one for spread damage. Small aerial damage, but great ground damage, overall. The Oct Arrow is definitely a must for the Forest levels, primarily to deal with the Mushrooms (I relied heavily on the Poison Arrow for most of the game) and it has a much better chance of hitting the enemies. The level's enemy setup (how many, where etc) seems a copy-paste of Forest 1 (having passed F2-5, filled with bats and going to F2-6, filled with Purple Shrooms and one or two bats). The enemies: Orange-head Bat, shoots two spikes as an attack, drops $50 Red-head Bat, shoots four spikes as an attack, shots go further than OhB, drops $50. Purple Shroom, stronger form of the poison mushroom. Shoots purple gas as a retaliation, drops $80. Purple Blastcap, Boss of Forest 2. Shoots one spore if hit, and spore will burst into 3-5 gas clouds on hitting ground. If it hits a ranger, will only affect the ranger it hits, without releasing gas. Poisons for a good 3-4 seconds, maybe longer. Cash drop will be posted later due to low numbers of specie. DANGEROUS. DO NOT RUSH.

I felt very satisfied with these new levels. I just wish they would make the CB a little harder to beat, because these shrooms would kick his butt hard and fast, probably with only a few attacks.

I think both Lightsaber and Flame Sword need the respecting damage jewel to be really good. My impression was that the Flame Sword without Compo totally lost against my Lightsaber+Topaz. We still have to find out a few things: - Does Bullet's Card work with Vulcano?
- Does Bullet's Card work with Sparc Glove?
- Does Bullet's Card work with Oct Arrow?
- Does Guide's Card work with Vulcano? And does it work for both primary and secondary shots?
- Does Guide's Card work with Sparc Glove?
- Does Guide's Card work with Oct Arrow?

I noticed a visual change: bullets from Red stickmen no longer look like bullets, but more like the spheres which trees, seaweed, and Volcano magicians shoot.

/me*whips out ultimate testing account* 8th weapons:Bullet's Cath: Spark Glove and Oct Arrow only Pierce's Card: Oct Arrow and Volcano only Guide's Card: Oct Arrow and Volcano only I believe Oct Arrow becomes 9 Arrow with bullet's card, though no verification has been done. As for Spark Glove, the number will increase from 6 to 7 with Bullet's Card. Image: Spark Glove + Bullet's Card Volcano with Pierce's Card isn't a good idea at all. Trust me. Volcano with Guide's Card: the card affects primary bullet only, not secondary. General Veers: Same with the Castle Boss. As a matter of fact, the CB seems to have been tweaked: it fires bullets more rapidly now. Also, now the Xs (notably HC1) as well as the Dragons have seemingly larger bullets. Or perhaps it's an optical illusion... Irrelevant note: can we seriously get rid of the live preview???
