From now on, none of us may stall conversations or wait for someone else to do it. We cannot have any lazy staff members. At all. If they have to go through every single board on the forum to change something, they must do so right away. If they need to find a code, and implement it, they have to do it, not post away waiting for someone else to. Yes, I'm talking to you, QwertyuiopThePie.
We need to really work to get this back to something even resembling an okay forum. That means an end to laziness. Period. We are going to judge all of those contests immediately, regardless of whether they have enough people. If an idea is generally approved, whomever is online must do it, not post asking someone else to do it. If a contest idea seems approved, we need to approve it. If an element reviewer has three pages of reviews to work through, they need to do it right that instant.
Now, rules. I am suggesting we make some rule changes. First, we drop the bump rule. There are plenty of old threads that are fine to post in, and we can just call it spam anyway if it doesn't contribute to the thread. We may re-engage this rule later. Next, we enforce advertising, somehow. On firefox there is an easy addon that allows for comment board advertising in a single click, or even upon startup. It's very easy and nobody has an excuse not to do it. I would suggest making everyone place an ODBF advert somewhere in every upload they make, but that's just plain cruel. We can make informal suggestions to that effect, however.
Also, on the subject of polls. Consider them disabled. I have made them staff-only on every board except the spam board, and I expect the staff not to use them. Period. End of story.
This thread ends the talk and starts the action. Don't even bother posting here unless you have already done what you are suggesting, unless it's something you need someone with higher power to do or you feel that you need some approval of. If someone with higher rank sees a request, do it immediately. If anyone sees a purchase at a shop, there is no excuse not to do it when you see it. Also, we will go through all the old threads (FAQ, the shop, etc), and fix them up. We will also increase prices in the shop to account for the recent inflation. We will start a staff-provided burst of threads to post on, such as forum games, if needed. Once we have more activity, we will not allow this mindset to waver, although we can relax on some of the rules and start enforcing other ones. We will also do another purge of the staff, to take care of those that do not care about our well-being and are not willing to put in the effort that a staff member must give. If they are not willing to accept the mindset required by this thread, they do not deserve to be a staff member. We will be able to hire more when we have more activity.
Enough "should", enough "might", enough "someone will eventually", enough "do it yourself". This time, we are going straight to "We will" and "right away".
I do apologize for the lack of any rhyme or reason above. Just, please read it all and PUT IT INTO EFFECT. Don't discuss it. DO it.
