Republicans don't just like war. I'm an inependent but I know that John McCain didn't want war. He just felt we shouldn't waste money leaving the war. He thought since we already started it we should finish the job. Why would he want war anyway?! He got his bones snapped when he was captured in war himself. I don't think he wants bloodshed.

If i was president, i would end the war we began to fight. Bringing out troops will not solve the problem.

If I was president, I'd put the issues that will harm us in the long run first.
That means the economy and the environment.
Then war.
Then important non-crisis issues like education.

I agree with SM, but you have to look good as you do it. The public is more receptive to a charismatic president.

And they always think of themselves. I'd call them selfish if the public didn't happen to BE everyone else in the first place. So you need to make your long-term look short-term.

Well if you ask me Obama hasn't done anything.

If you ask me, poor Obama may have dug himself into some deep doody by becoming president. The economy's crap, and the more fanatic Christians firmly insist that he's the Antichrist. The public's looking for a scapegoat, and Obama fits the bill.

"Carter, Reagan, Bush Sr., and Bush Jr.!" "But they're out of office! We should blame the Obama guy!" "Yeah! He's the cause for pools of magma everywhere!" *riots break out everywhere*

Actually, we DO need war. Even though I'm against it, we need it. War brings suffering and pain, but it keeps our countries safe. Without war and the U.S army, we're as good as dead. Terrorists and invaders can easily attack, and we wouldn't have a damn thing to defend ourselves with.
Nukes are bad, but they are also neccessary, if only rarely. Nukes are responses to large groups of terrorists, not just stuff we can go "Hey look! We have nukes! Let's go bomb Iraq OLOLOLOLOL" with. Although the government is just a compilation of complete dumbasses, they can use a nuke right on some occasions. Look at the 9-11 incident. What would our natural response be to that? Kick the living crap out of the terrorists who did it, but a lot of times the only way to flush them out is by using nukes. We can send U.S. soldiers in, but that'd be risking their lives since the whole country could be terrorists and kill them all.

It would be better if we had no concept of war and nukes in the first place.......

There'd still be war.
What I say is this : Only use nukes as a last resort. Only start wars if something important has happened involving violence with another country.
I think wars should only be started if it's a super bad problem with another country that can't be solved through peaceful discussion.

If there was no concept of it, it would never have been thought up of. Ever. If we can't solve something through peaceful discussion, don't nuke them. Just keeping on saying 'Pweedy Pwease?' in a sweet voice until they give in.

There was always war because there was always violence. There was no concept of war, war was just there.
We don't instantly press the nuke button if we can't solve a problem through speech, we use it as a last resort in wars. Saying "Pweedy Pwease" has nothing to do with a terrorist killing the President, or some other thing.
