"Now, the reason we suck is not literally because we do, it's because humans by nature cannot get along. We don't have a choice, because we are taught by, say, our parents that hate is a bad thing, and when we hate someone, it makes us hate ourselves less."
-"Why we suck", a short drabble I read recently

While our species is highly advanced, we have the capabilities to survive, and therefore do not need to fend for ourselves very often. You want food? Head to the Grocery Store. Need gas? Drive to a Gas Station.
We suck because we take these things for granted, we are destroying ourselves. According to the Code of Hammurabi, "If you hurt something, you get hurt back". Eventually, the human race is going to corrupt itself and life as we know it will end.

Thank you. I consider myself, though quite vain, also quite deep.
According to college, my speeches were "moving, interesting, and complex items".

Such accusations are pure vanity towards me.

"Anything that can go wrong, will go wrong eventually"
"You can never run of of things that can go wrong"
LOL - "The chief cause of problems is soultions" - LOL

Wow you guys are pessimistic, our hunger for meat and animals and our destruction to the world will cease as technology expands. When technology is done expanding, our culture will. It's all a matter of time before things start going good for Humanity.

Pessimistic: Seeing as how Earth has war, and Earth has constantly improving technology, eveuntually, we will become so advanced we can kill whomever, whenever, from wherever. Like I said, life as we know it will end, and it will be for the very reason spaghetticat is saying will advance us.
Optimistic: Seeing as how the world is going downhill at an alarming rate, perhaps the lesser threats will die out, leaving us free to their resources. Though vicious, cruel, and unruly, it's simply what we have to do to survive. Though it may not seem like it, this is as optimistic as it gets.

However, it is not just offensive technology that we are advancing in. we are becoming increasingly more advanced in defensive tech as well.

Yeah. In Iraq and other parts of the Middle East, people hardly blink an eye when a car bomb ignites. It's just terrible...

Sigh... The fourth demension is time. You're IN the fourth demension. Umm.....no. Time is a separate dimension altogether. We are in a three-dimensional world with three directions, and time is a one-dimensional line with one direction (else you bump into yourself and die).

Me: 'The volume of the hydrogen oxide is equal to half the volume of the glass. Anyone got a cookie to go with it?' Ew, you like your cookies with water? Nasty. Another quote: "If you cannot see it, hear it, taste it, smell it, or feel it, does it still exist? Some would say no. I however say that life is an eternal plane of reality. Everything is constantly touching something else. The air you and I breathe, for example. We know it exists, but we cannot prove it exists without advanced technology.... And everyone knows that technology can break."
