Yes, I am strongly suggesting that you quit all and everything Dan-Ball related.
Why? Because all that Dan-Ball is and ever has been is a big waste of time that ruins your life. And no, that is not an understatement. My life was HORRIBLE when I was a really active member of Dan-Ball, and I still haven't fixed it totally. Face it, it is an online computer program that lets you play with little colored dots and little stick men.
Just the little thing of quitting Dan-Ball makes your life so much better and easier, that it is very hard to describe. You start to notice the little things in life that you forget about, and you appreciate them more. By quitting you actually get a life. I had no life back in October and November, however much I wanted to think that I did. Now I can see all of the other things to do other than getting on a stupid computer game, like interacting with people that you actually know, and have seen in real life; not people you meet over the internet, who, I might add, may be stalkers. *cough* memzak *cough*.
Well, umm, yeah, *neck scratch* You need to quit.
People who I still have hope for: Buggy The Dark Master DarkRaine Yonder
Everyone else, I'm not saying you can't do it, but I don't think you will.

No. Get the hell off this forum if you don't want to be here. I don't care who you are, I'm not going to just let you say something about Dan-Ball. People don't need to quit it just to have good lives. Most of us can balance computer time and real life fine enough.
If you hate Dan-Ball so much, then why the hell are you even here?

That so? Well how pathetic of you. Unlike you we can actually muster the self control so that INTERNET GAMES don't affect our lives too much. Who the hell do you think you are? We have the basic mental strength to be able to balance live and the Internet. Just leave, we don't care.

We don't waste our whole damn lives trying to impress a bunch of anonymous morons, we just tinker and occasionally display our work. Maybe YOU screwed up, but my life is fine. Just because you have an opinion doesn't mean you have to force it onto everyone else.

I dont think dan ball messes up your life one bit if it had i would have quit months ago. If you dont like it that is your problem. I dont miss out on meeting real people because i have to finish that pixel art or i need to get a better stick ranger account.

no, of course we wouldn't, because A) it's not ANY of your business to decide what we'll do or not B) just because YOUR life sucks/ed, doesn't mean anyone else's does C) we're not stupid. we know who to trust and who not to trust. my life did suck a bit after I started DB. but you know what? I got off my lazy butt, fixed it, came back on, and had a blast. my life is now extremely better now that I've been able to balance my real life, and my time with the people on DB. really, why are you here? what "words of wisdom" do you have to tell us if we do leave? if we leave all the GOOD people on here? sure, there may be bad people, it's the internet! but what about everyone who you CAN trust? Edit: wow, we all gathered to this like a swarm of bees...

IP verified: soccerking813 is indeed Soccerking.
Please excuse the "welcome back"s from the first two replies...
As much as I don't want to repeat what everyone said, repetition sometimes helps to ingrain knowledge.
Thank you for the warning, but I am sure that those of us who have problems will get off to fix their lives or mope about their lives. If not, staff could always temporarily disable an account so they would be forced to remain off their account in these forums. I would only do that if someone requested it, however...
I have a life outside of Dan-Ball (with the exception of TheListo, who gets paid, maybe I have the best life, who knows?), and I strive to maintain my perfection. I admit that I would have more time to work with my life if I were to quit Dan-Ball, but there is not yet any need to do so.
Besides, some of us like watching colored pixels change color every few milliseconds...

Hey, guys, he's just trying to help others know what happened to him to make sure the same thing doesn't happen to them. I've been thinking about it for a while, soccerking. Of course, I've already told you that in "that other place." I might just quit some time over the next few weeks or months. Thank you for warning us about the apocalypse ! I'll be seeing you, soccerking!

Meh, anyone who doesn't want to be here can feel free to get out now.
Well, Buggy, I'm sure you deserve the rank of "Head Administrator" If you are going to go and quit.

Even if the TC WAS soccerking, I have to say that anyone getting underwear in their arse-cracks over what he said is taking this as a personal attack more than anything else.
He's saying that since he left all the DanBallery behind, he's got his life back in order. What this proves is what happens if you can't moderate your time between your personal life and a Java applet site. If you know how to moderate your time so that you STILL have a social life while sill getting some DB time, then you deserve a cookie or sweet snack of your choice.
Soccerking couldn't moderate his time. He became addicted to the website, proof of someone with very little self-restraint over the things he liked. Going by what he said, he probably put DB before everything else, showing how obsessed he was. And the fact that he managed to "quit" DanBall (I'm confused by that. How does one "quit" a webstie?) proves he had the willpower to give up.
The fact that he sank so low as to realize he was "addicted" says a lot though.
He's warning us that we could have much better lives if we stopped using DanBall altogether. Maybe we would. Maybe we wouldn't. The kids (the under 13 or 12s) will say SK's crazy or not cool anymore. The teenagers might see his point, but might also side with the young uns. The adults would probably get scared if they're as addicted as SK once was, or post here saying that they have a good balance of DanBall and life.
I've been without the actual Java applets for nearly a fortnight now. I've kept visiting the site to talk to users every so often, but I've been applying for a few more jobs here and there, and have been hanging out with my friends... on as regular a basis as I was beforehand. The only real, noticeable difference is that I've had more time to play my videogames due to having nothing to do on the internet.
So yeah, thanks for the warning SK. I'm fine right now though.

Well, I'm sure we can all agree that many of us balance our social lives and DB, me included. I see his point, but he could have been a TON less rude about making it.

Well, what is there to do, then?
Soccerking visited with a warning, some users detested his warning with comebacks that their lives are perfectly fine, others argued politely that although it would probably be a good idea to quit, they are fine in not doing so and ergo don't. We all got the message. We all are doing what we planned on doing. There is nothing more to discuss.
May Blizzard Force return to lock this?
