Quad Arrow Raw Stats: - Attack - 8 to 12
- Agility - 30 to 40
- Range - 90
Comparison: - Half as many arrows as oct arrow with twice as much minimum and maximum attack damage.(Damage distributed into 4 arrows)
- Is fired more rapidly
===================================================[/s][/b] Oct Arrow Raw Stats: - Attack - 4 to 6
- Agility - 45 to 60
- Range - 90
Comparison: - Twice as many arrows with half as much minimum and maximum attack damage.(Damage is distributed into 8 arrows)
- Fires more slowly

Quad is better, because:
Faster Less likely to miss (less shots)

If there is less chance of missing, the maximum hits is 4. But with 8 the maximum is 8. And the chance of only 4 arrors hitting from an oct arrow is very small. So there fore in that retrospect, oct arrow is better.

Attack with dex 62: quad: 23-32 (total 92-128) oct: 19-26 (total 152-208)
For sniper dex isn't equal to % bonus - every dex give same additional attack strength. More dex, then more oct arrow is better.

Ahh, I see. So every point of dexterity invested into a sniper with an oct arrow will have 2x the effect it would have had if he was holding a quad arrow. That's good. I can't argue with that.

What about the compo items?
The yellow crystal isn't going to have a very large effect on an oct arrow, while it'll have a larger effect on the quad arrow.
Though you can't really argue with how dex upgrades on the sniper.

superpickle 20% from 152-208 is more then 20% from 92-128 Only bullet card is weaker on oct - extra arrow in quad is 25% attack bonus, in oct 12.5% attack bonus. every point of dexterity invested into a sniper with an oct arrow will have 2x the effect it would have had if he was holding a quad arrow couldn't say it better

According to my calculations Quad Arrow is better than Oct until you reach a dex of 36, after that oct has a higher dmg/sec (assuming the same percentage hit). The higher Agi favors Quad at the beginning but the higher dmg boost from dex lets oct be better at 36 dex and higher. (The formula for dmg/frame is (avg dmg)/(avg agi)*#arrows. I don't know the framerate exactly and am too lazy too look it up.)

Can't tell how many dex it's need but when average dmg of quad is 20 and oct is 15 (constans difference of 5) then oct is equal to quad I didn't count dps (damage per second) but in average in 3 shots of quad there is 2 of oct disabled it's good idea to know from with dex move to oct arrow

Yep, 20 and 15 are exactly* the average damages they deal at dex of 36. Perhaps my calculations were a bit too complicated, but the result were the same. They are needed with other characters though to decide how much to put into dex to lower the agi to get optimal dmg/sec, so I could use the same calculations just with fixed agi.
*edit* *theyre not exactly 20 and 15, but 20.5 and 15.5 but with one dex less they are 19.5 and 14.5, so 36 is not the dex where they are equal, but where oct is superior.

Im beginning to get confused. Exactly what does dexerty mean? Just presume im a thicky. You get two points every time you level up, (By getting xp from killing things.) and you can put those in Magic, Dexterity, Strength, or HP. Each stat upgrades different things on different rangers. (It gets a little complected to explain what each stat does on each ranger.) For a sniper it upgrades attack.

I think Oct Arrow is better because it's good against a large group of enemies.
