I think you should focus on getting the more important parts of his life back on track. Just show this to him when you've done that and when he can get by in life without much memory problems.

Oops, forgot to say. How much did he forget? I'm assuming he can still talk English. Did he forget things he learned in school? If so then all the way to how long ago did he forget? Did the doctor give you any numbers?
