-TF2 Class Tuts and Tips-
Since I am not an expert at this game, feel free to throw these tips and tuts in the trash if you think they are bad Also, I probably left out a lot of stuff... But you can figure it out on your own.
*TEAMWORK*
Before I say anything about the classes, I'm going to tell you. If you don't work together as a team, there is probably a 10% chance that you will win. If you work together as a team, then there is a 90% chance you will succeed. Remember, this is TEAM Fortress 2.
Artik, remember, there is a VERY small chance you'll win, because only on ARENA could you win alone, or if you're just a super-1337, awesome-at-the-game-guy, which I doubt....Only me, Artik, + select few are THAT good.
-1337
Now onto the classes.
Scout- The scout is the fastest class. He can double jump, and he his scattergun is powerful at close range. But be careful, as he doesn't have much health, and can die easily. Use your speed to your advantage, run around your victim, jump, duck, go crazy. His pistol is great for taking out sentries, and when your scattergun is reloading and you have an enemy attacking you, just switch to your pistol and you might be able to kill the enemy. Your bat is pretty good, but it doesn't deal as mcuh damage as other melee weapons.
Soilder- The soilder is pretty slow, but his rocket launcher is powerful. The soilder can rocketjump to reach high areas. To rocketjump a short distance up, just shoot the floor. To rocketjump and medium distance, jump and then shoot the floor. And to rocketjump the highest distance, jump, duck, and shoot. Yes, rocketjumping hurts the soilder somewhat, so don't shoot if you have low health Always, aim at the ground to get the splash damage, but if you aim at the person then they will easily dodge the rocket. Use your shotgun if you don't think you can reaload fast enough to get the enemy. Your shovel is pretty strong, but you should mainly use your rocket launcher.
Pyro- The pyro is an ambushing class, so you shouldn't just run at your enemy. The pyro should wait for someone to come by, then go behind them, and BURN 'EM!!! The pyro can usually burn injured enemies, then run away. The person will eventually die. The pyro's secondary fire fires an air blast, deflecting particles. But it takes up 25 of your ammo, so use it wisely. The pyro can be unskilled or skilled and they will still be effective. Pull out your shotgun to shoot enemies running away. Your axe is very powerful, so feel free to use it. Soilders will probably be your worst enemy, as they can kill you before your in range.
Demoman- The demoman can sticky jump with his sticky bombs. All you have to do is to put 1 sticky bomb on the floor (or 2, if you want about 10 HP left...), then jump over them, then detonate them with your secondary fire button. This does hurt the demoman, like the soilder, so don't stickyjump when you have low health. His other weapon, grenade launcher, is pretty good, but I use stickies most of the time to kill my enemies. The demoman's bottle is strong, so if you see an enemy's back turned, just get your bottle out and get 'em.
Heavy- You shoot stuff with your big gun. You shoot stuff with your shotgun. You punch stuff with your fists. Enough said.
Engineer- The engineer builds stuff. They can made sentry guns, dispensers, teleprot entrances, and teleport exits. All of these buildings can be upgraded to level 3, which makes them do their work better than before. To upgrade a building, first build it Then, you use metal that you get from dispensers, safe room closets, and ammo packs, to upgrade the building. You get your wrench out, then wack the building with it. During Death Match, no one can respawn, or get health from the safety closets or health boxes. So, IMMEDIATELY build a dispenser somewhere safe. This helps your team get health and ammo, and helps you get metal without having to wonder around the map. The engineers shotgun is good to help shoot people running away, or to lure people to your sentry. Pistol is pretty much the same thing, except it can shoot far away. The wrench is very powerful, so always use it when there is an enemy close to you. Also, watch out for spies. They can sap your buildings, which disables it and slowly takes away health from the building. To get rid of sappers, hit your sentry 2 times with your wrench. And then you should hit it again with your wrench to repair it. If you have no ally around to help you get rid of the spy, abandon your building and just attack the spy. Then if he runs away or you kill him, quickly repair your building. The first time a spy saps your sentry, then first unsap your sentry then get the spy. They spy might've been planning to sap the sentry, then stab you, so if he's too slow and stabs you when the sentry is repaired, then he will get killed by your sentry. Unless he saps it quickly. But it would have to be very quickly. VERY quickly.
Medic- Never go off alone killing enemies by yourself. You should be with someone most of the time healing them and boosting their health. If someone calls MEDIC, then you will see a icon above the person, so just go to the icon and heal. If you heal enough in one life, your ubercharge will become full and you can deploy it on someone to make you and your buddy invincible for a short time. This is good for taking out sentries. Be careful when you are a medic, because you might actually heal a spy in disguise! If they are acting suspicous and not shooting, then check them by shooting them with your Needle Gun (Your Needle Gun is good against scouts). Always stay behind your buddy, just in case, so that a disguised spy that you have been healing cannot stab you. Most of the time you should use your saw against spies, as it is very powerful. And while healing you should zig zag, jump, and run around to avoid snipers and other enemies.
Sniper- The sniper should find a place to go and snipe. After about 3 snipes, you should change places, so your victims can't stab you again. Expect to be stabbed by a spy at least once when you play the sniper. Spies can easily backstab you and you won't notice them since your eyes are in the scope. Your sniper rifle can only make one hit kills when the charge is all the way up. To get the charge up, just stay scoped. Your SMG is good for taking out injured enemies. Also, your sword/machete/kukri is very strong. About two good hits would kill a normal person. So you should mostly use your sword when someone is attacking you up close. if you have your sword out, then they might get their melee weapon out and underestimate the power of the sword. If a enemy is attacking you directly, attack them while fleeing.
Spy- I think this is probably the most enjoyable class. The spy is a master of disguise. He can use his invisibility cloak to sneak into the enemy bases, or run away. However, if you bump into an enemy while invisible, then you will turn visible for about a second or two. Just run away. A good strategy is to run in a certain direction, cloak, then run in another direction. They will run in the wrong way, and you will survive. If you want to camp somewhere, you should look for a high area. As said in a Portal Developer Commentary node, players always refuse to look UP. Use this as your advantage. With your knife, you can get behind someone and backstab them, which is an instant kill. Do not underestimate your revolver. It is pretty strong, and feel free to use it regularly. Your disguise kit is meant to disguise, of course. Just pick a class and disguise. And get to know where classes usually hang out. You don't expect a scout to stand by sentries, and you don't expect an engineer to run into the battlefield. When you disguise as a scout, you will go slightly slower, so be careful. ALSO, NEVER, EVER, UNLESS THE NEED IS DIRE, DISGUISE AS A MEDIC. First of all, there will be no ubercharge percent under your name. Second of all, people will get very suspicious if you heal no one at all. When disguised, you can also bump into people, so be careful with that too. With your sapper, you can sap buildings. If you sap a sentry, it will be disabled and will make their health go down gradually. If an engineer is near, then sap the building, then stab the engineer before he has any time to react. You can team up with a soilder, heavy, demoman, ect. and sap the sentry, then your buddy will destroy it before the engineer can get rid of it. One strategy I use is I sap the sentries in the intel room, then the scout runs in, grabs the intel, and runs away. I can either run away or destroy the sentry. Doesn't really matter. Anyways, you just have to be patient, and you will be a good spy in no time!
That's all folks!
