Ok i am sick and tired of the ad's they have to go!
I dont wanna know about the CuteKid contest and i dont wanna race the guy round the track to win a free ipod. Anyway what i am saying is i am quite willing to pay to make this forum ad free (well just for a month or so)

Just use Firefox, then you can't see any of the ads and they don't make noise.

Yeah, and firefox is better anyway. The ads help pay to keep the forum up, right?

Of course they do, do you think we need to reccesion-proof our businesses, or take a picture of our cute kid?

Yes, ads pay for these forums. You can use Firefox to block the images from ads (how?) if you do not like seeing them.
I shall keep this open until someone explains how to block ad images, after which this shall be locked.

I know there is a button somewhere which says 'click here to make this board ad-free'. I'll look for it again.

No, that brings you to a site to pay for these forums. I doubt you have enough money to pay for credits, which in turn keep these forums up for a few months or years...
Besides, the ads aren't that distracting, are they?

I never thought they were... When i go back to my other computer (which has firefox) I'll try to figure out how to block the ads.

Some forums have the method of 'If you become a member, you don't see the ads'. Perhaps we could do something like that to pursuade more people to become members.

I really think we should rally up our credits for ad-free AND a domain name.

Simply having FF does not block the ads, you need to go to Tools or something along those lines...
I don't know how exactly to block them.

Get the addon, adblock plus, which everyone else oh-so conveniently forgot to mention.

adblock plus is awesome, you want to get it. You can block either ads, or individual frames.
