Sorry if there is another thread about it, I didn't find it. But, I very much dislike the reordering of the forum (The SR forum) into more subforums. With all those stupid announcements (there are about 4 PG announcements in the SR forum) I always have to scroll if there are new threads. If there are new threads in the sub boards, I again have to do an extra click to read them. IMO thats just stupid and decreases the accessability to the forum. Any comments?

Well, we thought as the SR board (board, not forum) was growing large, it would be easier to divide the different topic types up.

Very seldom I check the old updates threads. So if the latest is on top (stickied if you want) you see it directly and the old ones are old anyway. If you really want them, its a matter of searching to find them in seconds. So I think that subboard is useless. The ideas board is useless right now, because it has just one thread, but If there would be one thread per idea, I would agree to make a new forum for it. But then I don't care about the ideas you have, because the creators don't care about the ideas you have or is someone of them reading them? The guides forum is filled with two month old stickied topics. One sub board takes about as much screen real estate as two stickies, so I don't care about that board, and if it gets used, it might even improve the organization of the forum, so leave it if you want.
Then again, with at most a few posts a day, I think it is still useless to divide this board into more sub boards, as I'm mainly interested in new comments.
And to underline my main complain: Remove those ridiculus announcements for PG stuff in the SR boards.

Well, thank you for opining. Some other staff did originally want to try using sub-boards, but now that I know someone doesn't want them, I can try to appeal for their removal.
Again, thank you for your respectful opinion. You get a karma point.

I agree with disabled. I think it would be a good idea to reduce the number of gobally sticked threads, because there are currently 11 threads sticked. As said by disabled: 4 of them are just Powder Game only. I think they should get removed from the globally sticked and sticked only in the Powder Game section. And there are 3 different threads about forum rules and how to behave ( 1, 2, 3). One announcement about these topics should usually be enough for a forum! And I also recommend to switch to " One thread per idea". It's better because you can easier discuss the suggestions without getting interrupted, or you can directly suggest extensions for old ideas. If we don't do this, I also think the sub-boards are not really neccecary. For SR we don't have that much active threads. /me

I agree that the sub forums are quite cumbersome, and in their short life time there hasn't been one post in them.
Removing some of the global stickies would also be very nice.

"announced"). I just disabled viewing of the announcements in the Stick Ranger boards and sub-boards. The " One Thread per Idea" suggestion does sound like a good idea, and indeed execution of such an idea would permit the existence of the Idea sub-board. Are there any, if not all, sub-boards you want taken down? Are there any that should be added, in which case I will need the name of the board and a short 1-2 sentence description? Should I re-enable the announcements in the SR board and sub-boards? Are there any other board reorganization suggestions?

I made a thread about this in the staff lounge, and it seems to have gone totally ignored... not even a post in it...

Sorry. I figured that members in the Stick Ranger board would like to share opinions in what should happen to the boards, despite or because of my own opinions...

Many many thanks for removing those useless Announcements. Finally I have a free view on the board and don't have to scroll down, etc. About the sub boards - I would prefere to have the updates in the main SR board, as I read those and they get old after a week anyways. In my opinion the ideas board can stay, as I'm not interested in those, and it might get cluttered, if every Idea gets a new thread. I don't really have an opinion for the guides board. I'm semi interested in that but don't want to keep a second tab open for it. But I see the board being better structured with an extra sub-board, if more than two threads with guides appear... My Vote: updates: - Ideas: + guides: ~
Feel free to outnumber my vote ;-)

That should be a sticky no matter where you're posting, although I don't see any other necessary threads. (We really don't care about new smilies.) Overall there isn't any reason to have more than one board. (No new idea, guides are outdated, and updates are the only new posts here.) Get rid of the sub forums, unsticky the guides, and put up a new sticky better information than the current guides, and something about the "best build". (There is none.)

I figured that we might want to keep an archive of our different comments and discoveries for each of the updates, so I made a sub-forum to store them in. I haven't quite finished transferring all of the update threads into that sub-board yet, however, but if you don't want it, then by all means I will move the threads back and delete the sub-board.
People do get new ideas every once in a while, especially in clusters, and having separate threads for separate ideas sounds like a good plan for being able to access which idea we want separately. That really ought to stay up...
I guess the guides aren't really necessary anymore, now that we have a link to the Dan-Ball wiki at the top of the page. I guess I will move back the old guide threads too and then remove the sub-board...
As for the announcements, I may need to get in contact with other forum members about removing some of those threads. Many new members come here for one of the most popular games - Powder Game - and so we have a PG Board Rules thread up and PG Ideas up for them to see. Things such as "Warning!" and "New Smilies" I can take down without any complaints, however, so I will do that...

We can discuss the announcements in the thread I made in the staff lounge.

We can discuss the announcements in the thread I made in the staff lounge. No! We can not. Here are two things (outside of the Stick Ranger part) which I would change: 1) You have four main categories: Importants, General, Graphics, Games. I would move the forum "Announcements" from category "General" to the top of category "Importants". 2) This forum is about Dan-Ball, so it should be mainly about Dan-Ball related topics which are the Dan-Ball games. This means you should reorder the categories in the following way: Importants, Games, General, Graphics. /me

There is a new Announcement that has nothing to do with SR: "The Referral Program!!" Can you please clear that from the forum? Or at least remove it after some days, after it is no new announcement anymore...

Your welcome.
I've also re-enabled announcements on this board, since we have drastically cut down on their numbers.
