Cavemen went smarter?

You know those firebreathing skull stickmans in cavern 3? well, I tried to beat them again by using that bait method, most of them ignored this and started heading towards my ranged attackers.

has this be implemented since the last 3 updates of SR?

I am still able to bait, for about 30 seconds. then they get bored and go somewhere else.
