I had an idea of a Platinum Medal, which, in level one, increases EXP by 10%, while level 2 has +20% EXP gain. Level 1 is found at the boss of the Lake. Level 2 is found on the Last Level of each version, giving the Boss a chance of dropping one of three items instead of one of two. It changes bosses each time a new level is created.

That would be cool idea to have the possibility of gaining more EXP.
On the other hand: The EXP gaining system aims to not overpowering the team... That's why you gain only 1 EXP per enemy you kill from a certain level on... With the Platinum Medal you simply would reach that limit faster.

How about there's a VERY small chance of it being dropped?

hm... but the chance of bosses dropping items is very small anyway, isn't it?
but as i said: it's a cool idea, but i think there has to be some addition to the game so the platinum medal is more useful and the game won't get unbalanced.

Nice idea and would certainly work. It's also easy to implement.
But keep in mind that four of those medals would give you +4x20% more exp. Thats 180% EXP in total compared to the usual 100%. So you would level up nearly twice as fast as usual. Therefore I guess that 10% and 20% is too much. 5% and 10% would also do it.

Hm... These are all very good points, so... What if only one Platinum Medal would be allowed to be in use at a time? Or would that not work with SR's coding?

Everything is possible but this needs extra work. What you would need are mainly three things: - If you pick up a Platinum Medal with your mouse, check whether one of the 4 weapons already has a platinum medal.
yes: disable all 7 slots except for the existing medal (which allows you to change lvl) no: leave all 8 slots enabled.
- If you pick up a Weapon with a platinum medal, check whether one of the 4 weapons already has a platinum medal.
yes: disable all weapon slots no: leave all 4 slots enabled.
- If you load the game check whether 2 chars carry a weapon with Platinum Medal, for cheat protection.
However I think this would confuse some players, because it's not obvious why you can't use a certain weapon now or why you can't attack the medal to another weapon. I don't think that's a good idea. /me

That wasn't a very useful post.
It sounds okay, but I think it should be Castle Boss, and the last boss of the game so far.

That would make more sense, since, usually, people get to the Caverns first (I think).

IT MUST BE LAKE BOSS!

Why? The Medals go up in the metal value each level.

Exactly. If this is gonna be a really major medal, it should be for a really major boss.

But this is only about as good as the other medals, all thevother lvl 1 medals are from the lake, and there is currently no reason to win the lake.

Well Platinum Medal is called "Iron Medal" now ... EXP is +10% and +20% (obviously they don't think it's too much.) Level 2 (not level 1) is dropped by the Lake boss and the other one is dropped by the first Boss in the game at Opening Street (and not by the last one). /me

Yes! That's cool how there's now a Medal exactly like the Platinum Medal, besides percentage and metal.
