I was just randomly browsing the site and I stumbled upon this thread. Satar Gaèoèdoæ is offering to change his name to "I Love So-and-so" (like how TDM changed his name) if someone gives him 2,000 Dan-Balls for free. Now, when I saw this thread, I thought, this kind of thing can't be allowed and there has to be some sort of rule about it. So I went to the Forum Rules thread, and what do you know?? There wasn't any! I think there really needs to be a rule against this, otherwise people can cheat their way into getting a lot of Dan-Balls. It's outrageous and unfair! What do you think?

It might be good to have a rule against giving people dan-balls for them to change their name, but I think its slightly pointless as its only been done once and I dont think anyone would give him 2000 dan-balls in their right mind...

He already did. His name color makes it so you cant tell. I think that that might be a good rule, but there should be more to it. That by itself doesn't seem like enough to make a rule for. GGoodie out

I say you should only get in trouble if you change your name without permission from a staff member.....

I say you should only get in trouble if you change your name without permission from a staff member..... No, that's dumb. This is much more serious than a simple name change.

Funny thing is, I didn't give him anything. lol.
Anyways, should there really be a rule against changing your name to whatever for danballs? As long as the person who changed their name and the person who is willing to pay for it agree on the price it's no problem. One person loses _ danballs and the other person gains it. The only thing I'd do about this is not let the seller of the name change sell it to staff.(Since staff get it for free, and the seller still gets the danballs.)

Hmm...this is all very interesting...
That does seem..."too easy" a way to become successful with Dan-Balls. Maybe users should be prohibited from selling name changes to staff...

Well if its a fair purchase, where somebody loses dan-balls and somebody else gains the same amount, I don't see what's wrong with it . . . but otherwise, if a staff just adds the dan-balls, then we should prohibit that.

Well look at it this way: In order for the transfer to occur, real money must be spent..... I say you should only get in trouble if you change your name without permission from a staff member..... No, that's dumb. This is much more serious than a simple name change. That is not dumb, I was just saying that should be a rule in general.

That is not dumb, I was just saying that should be a rule in general. Well, I guess, but that's a completely different topic.

So the new rule: Prohibit members from selling the name changes to staff?

Yes. Aside from restoration of original Dan-Ball amount, of what should retribution consist?

If we're going with my version of the rule then it will probably never be broken since members are prohibited from selling the name changes to staff, who would know better than to break a rule like that, and therefore reject the seller's offer.

Well, see, my problem with this isn't the actual transaction, but the very act of even asking for or offering it. That's what really bothers me. I mean, people should know better.

Hey, what if it's not a dan-ball thing? Funny thing about the name color code is that only high staff can change names. Anyway, I don't see anything wrong with someone offering to change their name if they don't make Dan-Balls from it.

Anyway, I don't see anything wrong with someone offering to change their name if they don't make Dan-Balls from it. There's nothing wrong with just changing your name. But people shouldn't be allowed to do it for money.

Hence, "If they don't make dan-balls from it."
