Just wondering...
Since Garnet increases the length of Fire by 0.4s and Explosion has a radius damage... what is the benefit of adding them together?
If anyone else has tried this out?

Explosion isn't a fire...
Adding them should give you.. nothing useful.. as i guess. Whats more.. you shouldn't be able to apply Garnet to explosion.
You only use garnet to fire wepons, like Fire Arrow or Fire orb.. Explosion is different thing.
The difference is like between Ice and Freeze weapons.. seems similar, but you cannot apply Freeze compo to Ice type weapon.
And by the way... welcome to the forum.

Problem is, neither have I tried compo items on it. EDIT: Tried it. No difference: the explosion doesn't last longer; it doesn't have a larger radius either.

Okay... in real life it is..
In SR... you see that it doens't give anything.
Sorry but.. for me, ability to apply garnet to explosion orb is just misunderstanding.

Because Explosion orb is TYPE: FIRE.

This is something that should be straighten up in next versions of SR.
Explosion is fire type orb.. dut doesn't have much to fire itself. Explosion should be separate type of damage because there is no even sign of actual fire, when orb explodes. The fire compos only apply to flames. They give more damage or let them last longer... But not explosionion..
Thats why adding fire type compo to explosion orb gives nothing and thats why it shouldn't be taken as fire type weapon despite of the fact that you can apply fire compos to that orb.
And as i have wrote before.. this is just misunderstanding.... and can be added to ha5ii TODO list.... if there were any in our reach.

Actually, I do believe that Ruby increases its attack power...

couldn't fing Garnet fast enough.. i have checked on Ruby as this one is addind actual damage to fire.
In 20 tries i have noticed around 18% more fire damage dealt to same monster with explosion with ruby...
This means.. explosion.. somehow IS fire.. Surprisingly for me..
But.. the fire damage is only small part of damage from explosion. There is also a physical (as i guess) damage.. You can see that from explosion tehre are two numbers of health flying out. The biggher one is the one unaffected. The second one, on top of the physical, is the actual fire damage that gets bigger with Ruby.
The relation one to another is 3:1 So .. all in all after applying Ruby to Explosion we get around 5% more damage from single explosion, depending on your stickmans lvl.
Someday i will check if Garnet does anything to Explosion orb.

Someday i will check if Garnet does anything to Explosion orb. When you roll your cursor over the explosion orb, there is a line that says, "TYPE Fire". ha55ii intended for it to be fire in the game, therefore it undoubtedly is. It having a different "fire" effect than other fire weapons is another discussion. The "main" number can technically be considered as fire damage. You know the poison arrow? There are two components, one is the number you see when the arrow hits the enemy, the other slowly drains health from the enemy. The draining is poison, the arrow hit can be considered as physical if you wish. The damage ratio is irrelevant. When you add MAG to your magician, you increase the "physical component" of the damage but not the "explosive component". It's like poison arrow: when you add DEX to your sniper, the poison damage doesn't increase; only the "physical component" increases. Therefore, the higher your level, the higher the ratio. Please read my post above. I have stated that Garnet does nothing to Explosion.

I totaly agree with you bewnt.
You are absolutely, 100% right about htis (most probably). Yet, it doesn't mean that i am not.
Like you, i have splitted the 'element damage' from the damage we agreed to call 'physical'. Like i said, one damage did increased, and the other one didn't. The one that did (basics of math (adding) said so.. that was not my imagination) was actual fire damage, and on my lvl, with my stats it was around 18% increase, so it was big enough to mention it, as it couldn't be just bunch of lucky shots. (other thing is that fire damage isn't depending on your lvl but on weapon you are wielding... but pay attention.. only the 'fire damage' part of whole damage)
Why did i write this? Because you are trying to explain me the things we both well know. Yes.. there are two types of damage from magic weapons. Nothing new here. With Ruby, the fire damage increases.. and the physical damage doesn't. Ratios for both types of damage are 3:1. Ruby gave me 18% faster heatlh drain from fire and didn't from physical. Overall the explosion was increased less than 18% as the physical damage itself, the one that didn't increase, is much bigger and was more-less 5%.
The damage ratio mainly IS irrelevant, and for that i can agree, but when talkin about fighting the ratio talks to me and pure damage info doesn't. Ruby increases fire damage for 1-2. Every single shot gives 1-2 more damage. When i look at it, it says... that something will change.. but i have no idea if i feel the difference in field. If i count this and write, that overall shots are 5% stronger i can see that if i am killing monster for a minute, the ruby will let me kill him only 3 seconds faster. And that tells me that it ain't worth investing in. Thats why i have written about this. Because this way of showing it, actually tells me something about the difference.
And the Garnet thing.. Thanks for reminding me it was already checked. This way we both have checked both fire stones.
Garnet doesn't change a thing. Ruby does, but not much.

It doesn't do anything. Nothing at all. Pointless.
