As you all probably realize by now, Bird has one really bad problem. It makes the game lag EXTREMELY SlOW, but only if there are a lot of birds. You can discuss the lag problem and maybe ways to fix it hear.

way to fix it = get a super computer.
the lag is caused because your computer can't calculate so many stuff in a split of a second(which for the game to run smoothly[60fps], you need the computer to make 60*{amount of birds MOVING} complex[or not] calculations.)

Exactly. The pixels all communicate. Simply avoid too many birds.

Okay... Hmm... Is there any other way than that? I'm pretty sure thats what Bubba II meant... Maybe there is a more efficient way to calculate all that, or maybe there is a way to get the same effect although not as much computing, of course, we don't know a lot about the calculations...

I doubt it. The algorithm is not very simple, judging by how the birds behave. Every frame, each bird pixel has to decide what to do, based on the other bird pixels around it. And it does that, hopefully, 60 times per second, for each bird pixel. Of course it adds up quickly.

This Shouldn't be hard to explain. I never actually found any use for bird cept maybe scenary. which is also completely useless. As Unison said It does add up quickly.
Bird is pretty epik thought. As for the new updates it pwns. Making a Script like that must be fun. Try 40000 Dots of Bird. I don't have lag with bird. I suprised i don't though...

to me bird is useless unless you use it as a power when its pretty fun just don't make too many birds it ****s up your cpu and it made my computer lagg for like a month when i did 40k birds..

I haven't really tried bird out yet but I just did and WOW that insane. 5fps?!
(LOL that's the frame rate normally on my friends computer... he has vista. ;D)
