Evolution of Music

I've noticed that the majority of music played on television channels such as MTV or music albums that come out are slowly turning to the genre known as techno. Could it be possible that most of the music in the future will be some form or branch of techno? Discuss your views.....

To be honest I'm quite fond of the techno genre. Specifically two branches known as 'trance' and 'drum and bass'.

No it won't. Its Electronica. Techno sucks. Anyway, the only genre that will always be alive will be Rock and Roll. Even in the 70's when disco was cool, there was still rock, and now, with all this rap and hip hop crap there is still rock.

Classical is just as epic as Rock and Roll. It's been here for a very long time, so I don't think the genre is going to go away. Ever.

But neither will classical. Lol, I play both.


And I do agree that today's music really sucks. But it's not just turning into techno, there's all this really stupid pop/hip-hop stuff that teenage girls are in love with. It's meaningless, talentless, emotionless, and overall crappy.

And as Ggoodie said, it's not really techno, it's electronica, like, for example, that unbelievably obnoxious disgrace to music known as 3OH!3.

Yah. I like some classical (it relaxes me, mum turns it on the radio every morning) and mainly 50s- 80s stuff.

I also agree most of today's music is crap. Many times I walk down the street and I hear a car playing a riduculously loud drum beat over and over again which will surely destroy their eardrums in a few years and they are oblivious to the fact no-one else driving wants to hear it.....

Many 'pop stars' are just desperate for fame and cash galore so they release some crappy songs for some recognition and money....

Well, these days lots of people are all into the latest stuff, so they quickly get bored of songs. This must put singers, rappers etc. under pressure to produce new songs, meaning they steadily get worse...

Honest to God I prefer Classical Rock and Swing the most.
Those are the only genres that will last forever

That shitty music can all be categorized under the genre "Miley Cyrus". Metal, Rock, and some trance is all good.

Meh, rock will always be good. It has more sub-genres than any other type of music, so there's really some for everybody.

Why do you all assume no one wants to here today's music? It wouldn't be popular if nobody liked it. And not all rap is bad. Only rappers that focus on sex, drugs and money are. You guys should hear Styles of Beyond and Fort Minor.

As a matter of fact I've heard Styles of Beyond (The only reason being that they're on the Need for Speed: Most Wanted soundtrack). But I must say, they are the best rap I have ever heard in my life. I'd never heard of them before I got that game.

It's all the mainstream rappers that suck.
