A post must actively contribute to the discussion within its thread. Posts that add no extra significance to the thread, such as laughing out loud or agreeing to/rejecting a previous argument without giving reasoning, will be in violation of this rule. Polls are an exception.
The Spam board is an exception as always.

Yeah, this rule isn't going to work at all. Sorry, but half our activity is people agreeing with other people without any reasoning >.<

Yes, that is right. Now stop posting unless you have something to contribute to this discussion.

I'm with this wall of fools (and VIROS/FTZ). This rule is a bit strict, I must say.
And I can say, I'm a frequent flyer of the GameFAQs Airlines where they mod posts for having "Cool Story, Bro" as a post.
Also, 1000th post here for me!

Well, "Cool story, bro," actively compliments the story and makes the poster of the story feel well. That kind of thing would be permissable. Laughing out loud does not actively contribute to a post unless it was made in a joke thread or something along those lines...

Laughing out loud does not actively contribute to a post unless it was made in a joke thread or something along those lines... "Cool story, bro" is a trolling technique. GameFAQs mods only mod it if it gets marked. What I was saying is that GameFAQs is strict, but they aren't so strict as to stop you from having irrelevance in topics from time to time.

Ah, I see...well, I have a feeling that we won't crack down on every single case. For instance, we do let people slide when they revive threads for the first time, post in the wrong board once or twice, or things along those lines. When they become more frequent is when major moderation will really take place.

Complimenting someone... odd trolling technique...
Anyhow, this isn't actally a new rule. It's just a more complete description of the "no spam" rule.

This rule will bed bended a bit for new members, like GV said.... but for older members, they should know better. Oh and Ggoodie, I've seen you swear many times, mostly on chat.... but more frequently on the forums.
