What if there were preset member groups that members could pay to join?
These could be different prices, ranging from 100 to 1,000.
There would be 5 groups, each with custom stars and and a default name color.
I dont know what they would be yet, but i think it would be pretty cool.

I think it would be another obnoxious way to show everyone how many virtual points you have ._."

THIS idea is new, and therefore much better. At least, we can put it to a vote.
I actually kinda like it. What would the names be? In what order?
Probably, they would go from one star, to two stars, to three stars, to five stars, to twenty stars.
100, 200, 500, 1000, and 5000 in price, mayhaps? The top one would have to be "Epic" or something...

Another idea is to have them all be the same price, and they could just be groups you identify with.
If they are all the same then it would be less like the already existing groups that go by post count.

I think it would be another obnoxious way to show everyone how many virtual points you have ._. I have to agree. Frankly, I think this is pointless.

Well, I like it.
There is a possibility that these Groups could have their own PRIVATE board......
Just throwing out more ideas.

That would be cool. Cause You can set it to have only one member groups have access (and staff of course) and they could be like club houses xD

Alright, now this is getting interesting. Private clubs sound pretty good.......

But we would need a new category for each of those private boards, if only that membergroup and staff can access it...

you do? hmm. Well, only people inthe club would even see the category, so its not like it would detract from the forum at all. Also, that way each club could have its own boards too.

Hmm...these sound like interesting ideas, although I do have a few questions.
What would the five preset member groups be named, and what, aside from price and number of stars, would differentiate the five groups? If private member boards/categories were to be included, how would they make the private groups different?
With the answers to these questions, this could possible come closer to reality without failing in the end (although I can't promise anything)...

They would be differentiated because of the special boards, and the stars...
And the name, I suppose. I think five member groups with the same price but different names may be a good idea, we could have some friendly competition. We shouldn't make it expensive, though. We need people to be able to join these groups depending on where they want to go.
Each group could have separate boards, such as one for pulling pranks on the other groups, or a gentalk one. They would all have different types of boards, though. For instance, if you join the "Powder Gamer" group, you would have access to a gentalk and powder game board (both private). For the "Prankster" group, you would have gentalk (standard on all groups) board, a "pranks in forum" board, and a "pranks in real life" board, or something like that. For the "Philosopher" group, you would have gentalk, and a few serious debate boards, or perhaps somewhere to discuss serious things, like literature or whatever. For the "Spam Master" group, you would have gentalk, a spam board, and a board for discussing spam methods.
These are all purely examples.

hmmm, i think it would be better if each group had its own category, which would only be seen by them, and would be a place for them all to hang out, maybe throw contest, and stuff. I think each group should get a leader, who names it and does all that stuff. They would name it, decide on the boards, and set the price (deciding how exclusive it should be)
These groups would most likely be low prices, maybe having a set range for the 5 (or whatever number we decide) leaders to choose from (300 - 600?)
Who should be the leaders would be another matter.
I dont think any of the current boards should be affected.

If we do have the naming n'all, I call one of the groups!
Of course, they should probably all be the same group.
I'm not sure about having 5, though... I mean, it's 5. We probably won't have 5 people who join groups. Would 3 be better?
We can't make them until we create them, so I suppose the first to buy a group is the leader. Does that person all choose boards for their category, then? By the way, ggoodie, I DID say "...it would be better if each group had its own category, which would only be seen by them, and would be a place for them all to hang out, maybe throw contest, and stuff." Well, in a way. So our ideas do not conflict, although I clearly worded my post badly.

Oh sorry my bad. If we have three, i call one..
>.> <.< It was my idea and all...
I think they should decide the first boards, but once there are members they get says too.

AHEM AHEM.
Who's idea was it for the member group boards/categories?

Ozone's for the member groups, Ggoodie's for the preset ones, and you added the board idea.
You can call one, if you want, but I have one and Ggoodie another.

Im sure i will be fine without one. Scratch that. I'll take one.
And BTW, are you saying that the "Groups" can have Prank wars against eachother?
