what do you mean by "drink machine?" like a fountain? or like a water cooler?

i mean like a soda fountain.you add thunder fire or something to buttons and an element goes into the cup.

We had a similar contest once before - the Chemical Mixing Contest - but, despite all the effort in making rules, prizes, and publicity, it didn't prove to be popular. Maybe this will?

maybe something else to consider putting in the judging standards could be reusability. Like say, could you reuse it to make a new drink without resetting it.

yeah maybe.hhmm... that would be very hard though

Then it could be something that would make an entry have a very good shot at winning.
Also think of prizes that they could win, unless you want it to be pretty much the standard.

i can't really think of anything to offer as a prize.besides the standard.

That's ok. Most contests do that anyway.

Here i have some recomendations for the judging, they pretty much are variations of yours: Quantity (# of drinks) Quality (good looking) Easiness to use Reusability (Hard but will be better looked at)
How are those?

Okay i have some revised rules in more description:
Usability: The user should be able to choose a liquid to pour, be able to pour continuously, and stop pouring it. All three actions should be possible for all elements that are available to choose. Automatic disqualification will be issued to the upload that pours on its own without any way for a user to choose what (s)he wants/to stop the pouring.
Quantity: There should be multiple liquids able to be dispensed into some primary container.
Originality: The entry should be unique, not a ripoff of another entry. Similarity is okay, but the more unique an entry the better it will be judged.
Appeal: The entry should be neat looking. A messy, unorganized machine will be frowned upon.
Reusability: If the entry can be used more than once without being reset, it will be far better looked upon.
How are these?
