Despite demands for this by those with the power to create contests, no one did so; ergo, here is this thread that I made. If you want something done, you have to do it yourself...
Background Information
Every once in a while, usually once a month, Powder Game is updated with something new added to the list of elements, backgrounds, et cetera. This contest focuses on the newest update which brought GLASS into existence.
Objective
Use GLASS in the most original and creative manner as possible, demonstrating the full potential of this element.
Criteria
Creativity (25%)
The entry should use GLASS in a creative manner, exploring its uniqueness. An application of GLASS used in some bigger design (domiciles, courses, artwork, etc.) than a simple, independent demonstration of the application.
Originality (25%)
The entry should use GLASS in a manner different from other contest entries, usually by demonstrating a little-known fact about GLASS in some application. Full points from this criterion are awarded to the entry that uses GLASS in a way that no other entry uses it.
Number (25%)
The entry should incorporate as many functions of GLASS as possible rather than resorting to one single application or discovery. Full points from this criterion are awarded to the entry that demonstrates the most uses of GLASS than any other entry does.
Success Rate (20%)
The entry should never fail when run, ergo always showing how GLASS can be used. Full points from this criterion are awarded to entries that have a 100% success rate after the judges load the entry at least five times. No points from this criterion are awarded to entries that have a 0% success rate after the judges load the entry at least five times.
Clarity (5%)
The entry should be comprehensible. If GLASS is used as a method of creating webpages (an impossible task intentionally used as an example to prevent giving away ideas), it should be evident through obviousness of design or via directions what is being explored and what the user (i.e. judge) must do, if anything, to interact with the entry. Full points from this criterion are awarded to the entry that is easy to understand through design AND by means of text explanation/instruction. A monkey should be able to learn new applications of GLASS from the entry that gets full points from this criterion. No points from this criterion are awarded to the entry that is hard to comprehend by design and makes no attempt to clarify anything in the entry.
Honesty
The entry should be perfectly honest. It should always work if it claims to always work, it should demonstrate a particular application if it claims to demonstrate that same application, it should be the earliest upload made if it claims to be a first upload, et cetera.
This criterion is not used for scoring, but determines whether an entry should be disqualified.
Notes
Scoring guidelines under review: numeric figures not yet official.
