Dan Ball will die soon...

Here is a quote I read in the Stick Ranger section under boss stage from kierovnick.

The whole point of the game is to update it as long as possible. The only reason Dan-Ball works is that the PG and SR are still being updated.

Both games could be developing around 365 times faster but if they would, they would be complete for a long time now, and therefore finished and forgotten along with dan-ball.

I, myself have once created a fake boss stage and posted with description but description is gone now.. i have only the image


this should tell you that there's a lot to do in SR, but my oppinion the only reason dan ball still functions is that there are (literaly) few dudes taking care of it and some others that come and go from time to time.

Artifficialy delayed updates makes whole waiting process... kinda pointless... i go back here once in few months.. just to see that SR hav updated from 4.8 to 5.3 or so giving 4 new lvls and few weapons based on ones i have already seen.

This waiting for updates isn't funny anymore.

That's why Dan-Ball dies slowly..
Everyone will eventually get bored and find other toys.

He is 100% right, i'm thinking about leaving now.

The point of dan-ball is to be updated, but think of it this way:

If PG and SR stopped being updated they would probably just add more games and turn into more of a site like notdoppler.

Oh, and i honestly don't think that all these pessimists are really making the rest of it more fun for anyone. If dan-ball were to die, people would probably just say "whatever, life goes on. Its just a website."

A lot of people here don't even play dan-ball games anymore.

It's ironic how I just read that after farming for a card from the Tan Boss Roundhead Eel in Stick Ranger.

Some people will be driven away of their own free will, and others will remain. Some will go when (or maybe if, but more likely when) updates, and others will remain. Some will go when "boring" updates appear, and others will remain to anticipate what new update will make up for the "boring" one.

People will do what they do...

Seriously, dan-ball is more of a when-your-bored kind of site, and i don't think a whole lot of people would care a whole lot if it stopped being updated. The updated part is just kind of a nice bonus.

It's The Fall all over again. Believe it or not, there ARE other dan-ball games, and new ones to be developed. Plus, just look at PG: You can't really stop updating that. It doesn't have much of an end, there will always be more ideas. SR may die, but PG will not (soon).

What is it with all these people thinking the end is nigh? Seaweed, if you want to leave leave because some person posted a theory about the end of SR, go ahead. Didn't you originally hate SR and want it to end ASAP?

SR and PG are not all of dan-ball, the whole point is not to update the game, and the games cannot, in fact, be programmed a whole lot faster than they are. If you think they could, learn Java and then come back and say that. Once a week makes it nice and weekly. The updaters and Ha55ii both have lives, ya know...

If this logic actually applied, Dan-Ball would have ended when Ha55ii started running out of updates for Liquid Webtoy or some such game. It's been one update per week for memory, with a couple exceptions, not because it is needed to slow down the updating of the games, which are designed never to be 'done', but to allow the updaters/Ha55ii to work in the update around their busy lives, and, I believe, to produce multiple updates for Ha55ii to choose from.

Yeah, i agree with the previous comments: If he has a mental block and runs out of ideas, he'll make new games, because hes awesome like that. The only thing that ISNT awesome about the dan ball developers is their english

I've been waiting a long time now.

My only connection to DB now is this forum and its community. I stopped playing when i stopped caring. About the updates.

As far as Dan-Ball goes, SR is the scourge of my existance, and BG or Bug Fix updates are my rainy days.

The day PG gets life back in it is the day I make time. But until then, the end has already come, in my opinion.

Yes, well, it looks like they are now concentrating more on going iTouch/iPhone now. A new game HAS been created, but only for a hand-held experience.

The games won't die if they stop being updated. Don't forget about all the new people who can be introduced to it for the first time. Yesterday after school I showed Pg to a few of my friends and science teacher and they were completely into it. The updates only make people keep playing Sr after they win it and max out every thing and win with a 4 boxer party.

Ps. My Science teacher hates vine and birds.
